Anyone got any of the rear light pods gathering dust?

I want to have a go at carbon skinning a set but don't want to write mine off if I balls it up!

Don't have any Steve but I too was also thinking about this only over the past couple of days, but having never done it before I can't help but think it's a tricky shape to start with🤔

He who dares and all that.......

Have you had a go at this before??

Westfield sports cars sell the pods and they are not that expensive at only £90 something for the pair

Nope first time 😳

I read @Tim Reid (TimDave25) - Joint Thames Valley AO build blog when he did it. He did say they were tricky. I have a skinning kit just need some brave pills. Either that or I'll just paint them gloss black. Need rid of the horrid fake carbon.

If it’s the Easy Composites skinning kit, or one similar, with a more basic carbon cloth included, I’d get some better cloth for the tricky shapes, one of the ones pretreated with an adhesive spray for example, as they hold together much more when trying to get them to follow the tricky shapes. The basic cloth in the kit unravels the minute you start handling it, very easily.

This is what I used, although it does say it’s less suited to tight compound curves, because of the reduced stretch.

Just going to ask the very same!

Only touched a roll off carbon fabric once, I was stunned how delicate/soft it seems, so I have it in  my head that it will easily deform around curves along with overlaps especially going in different directions like the lamp pods?
