T minus 48 hours to kick off..

 

We have had a few WhatsApp calls to organise things, Covid requirements and restrictions have been the obvious things to keep an eye on, but all adults are double jabbed, kids are getting tested prior to departure, Spain is allowing us in so all is good....

 

.. apart from the first hotel TerryTemper has booked has ceased to exist and I've just twisted my knee, ouch

 

First leg is UK, all meet at Knutsford services M6 blat down to Bath for an overnight spanner check then shoot down to Plymouth for the Sunday afternoon ferry to Santander 😎

Well today was spent 5% packing and 95% filling forms.... crikey..

 

So we have been double jabbed so thought all is good but to visit Spain which is on the amber list you need to:

 

Complete Spanish health control form to enter 48 hours before arrival

obtain QR code prior to boarding in UK

have QR code on app or printed

to return to UK you need to have a negative covid test 3 days before departure

show evidence of another day 2 return test on return to UK

Purchase the above before departure

to fill in these forms you need DOB, name, address, NHS number Gov.com log in, national insurance details, passport number, arrival time departure time etc etc you get the drift 😆

 

Anyway all done just had time to pump the tyres up and check the oil and check the weather which is looking shocking for tomorrow

Just back from Ibiza, the form filling and testing evidence / window for travel etc is long winded, totally agree.

You will have the same to do on the return leg, not so easy on a phone! Took me 4.5hours to do all that for my family of 5

Here is our Spanish route..  5 stop overs varying from 1 night to 3 nights each.

 

Distance not that great at less than 1000 miles but plenty of places to explore in between 😎

The weather forecasters were correct for once, well almost loads of rain but no lightning. We all made it to knutsford start point except temper terry who was stuck on M6 further north, so we all did a top gear special and set off without him. He caught up eventually but we didn’t hear a squeak out of him, think he had his radio on channel 2 not 6 😆

Just arrived at first hotel.. soggy!

How do wind deflectors and half roof compare to full doors and 1/2 roof, always been too chicken to test that 🤣.

Wind deflectors and home made half doors didn’t do to bad TBH, weighed up getting a bit wet today against lugging full doors around Spain for 2 weeks probably unused.

We went for a curry in Swindon and the size of the curry was quite small compared to the size of the bill 😂
