Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted July 30, 2021 Author Posted July 30, 2021 Update as promised in my original post. My car IS working, so that is good news. It's not perfect and nothing is straight forward is it. We have fitted a new gasket on the inlet manifold today and that makes it idle better, it was suspected to have an air leak. Also the throttle bodies have had new O rings. The fuel pipe to the pressure relief valve is not happy but is ok, so tomorrow we are off to Euro Car Parts and will fit a new piece of pipe, hopefully that will fix it. The clamp doesn't seem to want to clamp. The garage smells lovely😃 My intended route on the Cat and Fiddle road has been resurfaced, so I will come up with a different route, did I say nothing is straight forward. See you all on Sunday, monumentus pieces of cake will be consumed, no onions will be harmed. 5 1 Quote

Rob Hunter - Club Secretary Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 I won't be joining you tomorrow I'm afraid. I've done the clutch change (and found the problem!) and have the engine back in but I've run out of time to get her all back together. Have fun, look forward to seeing the photos!!!! 1 Quote

Have an enjoyable but busy day tomorrow and when you have finished we will have some lovely photo's and a story waiting on here to share with you. My fingers are crossed. aeg Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Well what a day ! Left home in the rain 🙄 but it got brighter on the way up to the Peaks and when we got to the Bull there were other silly people there as well 🤔 then the funny talk started !!! Just ask about O’s . When breakfast was finished ( to add - some ate well others had lighter options! No black pudding was consumed 🤐) we ventured out in search of them nice roads, decision time roof or no roof? on top of somewhere ! Bigfoot spotting Down into the valleys , them clouds look grim ? then back up to the top make sure you don’t loose the person following find the nice wide roads the sleepy villages and the lovely cakes 😉 , notice no people in the photo ! 4 cakes and 6 people , in the conversation over the cake and coffee it was mentioned some people have put weight on !! Thanks for a great day out @Julie Hall - Joint Peak District AO,and we even stayed dry all the way home, stay safe till next time luv Andy & Becky 8 Quote
Popular Post Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted August 1, 2021 Author Popular Post Posted August 1, 2021 Having left a sunny Chesterfield we arrived at The Bull in drizzle. Billy was offering a warm, dry seat to the highest bidder! So it was inside for breakfast First stop was Longstone Edge for a photo shoot. We lost the drizzle by the time we neared Bakewell, I took the correct right turn this time and avoided the town centre! It was dry for the rest of the day, yippee. The views as you travel along up there are wide and wonderful with all the hills in their summer coat and a mixture of shade and sun highlighting them beautifully. Next we took the back roads into Castleton. Then we did a run up the Winnats Pass, of which is never going to be clear on a Sunday in August. Still, the views are stunning and more so when you drop down Mam Nick. Mam Nick looking backwards, but forwards you get views over Kinder Scout. We arrived at the Rambler Inn just in time for a pie and a pint Poor Andrew, Glen shifted Andrew's coke and put his pint there just in time for the click of the camera, naughty Parked at the Rambler Inn Sat on the heated decking area, oh the luxury. We seem to be short of cake on this outing, so that problem was soon fixed by a trip to Massarella's in Rowsley. Parked in Rowsley Now we can't have a meet without a bonnet coming off can we. This is Glynn's Mazda engine without a supercharger😉 To finish off the kind and lovely Becky leaves us with a gingerbread biscuit (we have recently been to Grasmere in the Lake District which is famous for it's gingerbread) and they are dressed in their swimsuits, which is a hot topic at the moment. Now swimsuits are like sports cars, one is not enough, so a girl is allowed to buy two. When another box of swimwear arrived last week at the pool Glen offered the lifeguard £20 to hide it from me, he said it is cheaper that way 😄 It's been a fun day, even though Andrew deprived me of black pudding, I will forgive him eventually, thanks for coming everyone. The driving and the roads have been great, hope to see you all again next time xxx 13 Quote

Labrat Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 Sorry I missed it, although with no weather gear I think it would have been unpleasant at first The clay shoot was damp but very enjoyable, although it lacked cake. See you next time if I'm not in Wales. Luke. 1 Quote
