Pads and geo.

Recommended Posts

Evening all.
Need advice please.
Been to caddy today and car ran faultlessly but had no confidence in the corners or on the brakes and that’s were it counts.

Ive got Westfield stamped ap’s.
What’s the best pad for track use?

Basic geo set up for track?

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Jay.

I should add, I’ve got arb’s that I will be removing before I’m back there in a couple of weeks. From what I’ve read that should help???

What’s your experience level?

What tyres are you on (and age!) and pressures?

looks like awesome weather, nothing beats a sunny Cadwell, it’s a rare event!

Been doing td’s for about 15 years.
Lightly modified road cars at first.
205 mi16 caged ran slicks on that.
500 bhp skyline powered esc Cosworth. Rwd no driver aids.
Most recently a track prepped e46 m3. Did mid 1:40’s in the m.

Toyo 888’s no idea of age came with the car. Guessing a couple of years.

18 psi hot.

Sounds like the basics are covered! :)

Pressures sound right. I use DS Uno which seem ok, but interesting my first time out on very old 888s yesterday and I found them less than inspiring!

What geo do you run?

@AdamR did the geo...I’m sure he’ll share his wisdom...

Jay. I have some nearly new Mintex 1144 that fit those calipers. Used for one track day. Took them out because they screech on the road.
The standard pads are Ferodo ds2500.
