CharliePsycho Posted February 1, 2004 Posted February 1, 2004 Seems preety much the norm on a VX with carbs to have 180 bhp, even with the crappy Westfield exhaust! I've got kent cams and an SBD manifold and exhaust with carbs and original dizzy. I've got just over 200 acording to the Dyno/rolling road... Most people I talk to say that's the norm... SBD do nothing but add throttle boddies (with associated engine management) and an exhaust and get 205 bhp... Now strictly speaking TB's don't affect the ultimate power (they affect driveablility massively though) so I would tend to agree with SBD from what I have seen. As to Blatters car... I also know an all steel VX on DTA engine management and TB's producing 180 ish BHP... you should see the torque curve though... It really is what you are tuning it to at the end of the day... The VX engine is a very imporessive engine... THe Zetec, xflow et-al are also very impressive, just not quite so impressive Quote
