Took me over 2 hours to do same journey that normally takes half hour

Every single road between office and home iced or snowed up      :bangshead:  :bangshead:

Council excuse was at the ready     Apparently roads had been gritted earlier but the snowfall was late afternoon and a sharp cold snap meant the salted/grit couldn't cope  :durr:  :durr:  :durr:

Roads were full of numpty muppets driving at 5 mph  :bangshead:  :bangshead:  :bangshead:   I had to overtake one  :arse:  :arse: who was driving a 4x4 Subaru     and so many women in 4x4 soft roaders  :p  :p  :p driving into kerbs and slapping their brakes on everytime another car came into view  :bangshead:  :bangshead:

Finally got to within 1/2 a mile of my house tonight, only to be stuck behind a motorcyclist having real trouble staying upright (fair enough) and three cars doing about three miles an hour. A cyclist overtook them on the left...

Had some fun parking outside the house though. Handbrake got stuck, honest occifer ;)

When i first read this post i was in the office, between Leics and P'boro - not a single flake - 2 hours later, at least 2-3 inches of snow on the car outside!!

Decided to pack up and go home, only to get stuck halfway up a hill near the A47 - Thankyou to the 6 locals in Uppingham :D  :t-up:

It then took me 4 & 1/2 hours to get the 37 miles home!! :p

Still, at least SWMBO, had the dinner on the table :t-up:  ;)

I set off from Alfreton to Packington tonight and it took 2.75 hours to travel 37 miles.  Why? Because Amber Valley District Council (Alfreton) did not have any gritters on the B600!    :arse:

Mind you, there has not been any warnings at all of a cold snap so I guess they could be forgiven!

Run a council: they couldn't run a bath!
