Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 About an inch here in Cheshire; just enough to stop the courier getting his van up my road. Had to walk down to the van and help him carry my new (to me) wheels up the hill. Still, at least he made it, he got snowed in up in the NE on Monday! Quote
david.c Posted January 28, 2004 Author Posted January 28, 2004 LOL.... We have 5" of snow on the derbyshire cheshire boarder I'm not jealous honest. So, some way shy of the blizzards that were forecast for most of us then. BTW Scooby how much ground clearance you got on the Westie David Quote

Blatman Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 An inch, if that, here in the nations Capital. This means that tansport grinds to a halt, and *lots* of people claiming to be snowed in, so won't be at work. Me, I'll be going to work on a motorbike, just to show the powers that be just how pathetic the rest of the work force are....... Sorry. Mini rant over....... Quote
Martin Keene Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 About the same in Peterborough... the way some people are dealing with it, you'd think it was a metre It took me an hour for my 10 mile drive to work this morning, normally takes 15-20 mins... Quote
oioi Posted January 28, 2004 Posted January 28, 2004 a tad more than the rest of you - its a blizzard at them moment my journey to work today: turning of the A1 to go to cramlington im turning left, but so is everybody else so i quite often go left from the right hand lane (saves 30 seconds, but I feel better). this normally works as im turning onto a dual carrigeway, just have to be a bit carefull. cunning plan going wanderfully as per normal, micra thingie inside of me goes left, i go left, but oooppss the outside lane hasnt been driven on and is covered in snow. fun moment as i start facing the guy in the micra - feel like waving cos hes looking a tad surprised! collect it and start to try and ease the power down so i can get past the micra and off the snow. lots of fun fish tailing but no real acceleration in a forward direction. fortunately the guy in the micra has clearly decided that im trying to kill us both and slows right down. i get of the snow and get on my merry way.
