Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 How was your keyless ignition? @Julie Hall - Peak District AO 2 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted August 8, 2020 Author Posted August 8, 2020 I managed to run away with Bag Puss's steering wheel, setting off the devilment amongst the group. When it was time to go I sat in my car, put the immobiliser in it's socket and STOP no ignition key! The whole bunch of keys were there but NO IGNITION KEY. Now I felt like Ian when he sat in his car and didn't have a steering wheel. Glen kept a straight face as I, well I what? did what? where do you look? I went across the car park to tell Chris we weren't quite ready to leave yet!! Andy R had already left and I thought it strange that he went in the opposite direction to his home, next thing he turned back into the car park and held my car key in his hand saying, 'looking for something madam?' They were all in on it the little rascals😀😀😀 4 Quote
Rob Hunter - Club Secretary Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Another brilliant day, loved the route through the Cat and Fiddle! I must say I'm very jealous of Andy's Porsche, it's one stunning car... Need to check my lottery numbers tonight! Sorry Chris had to receive the "magnet of shame", I wonder who's next.... Does losing an ignition key count!? 😂 Lewis managed to get loads of photos along the way... I also managed to convince my Mom to go for her first passenger ride when I got home... Despite being in her 70's she's still a speed freak and loved it 😁 2 Quote
Andy_R Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Great to see everyone and thanks for letting me tag along in the Porsche. I've only a couple of pictures to add ... @Julie Hall - Peak District AO decided to hide Ian's steering wheel!!!! So a plan was hatched to take the ignition key from her keyring 😉 I wonder how much I could ransom it for?????? 6 Quote
Trevor Little (Trevturtle) - Treasurer Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 "Pedal faster, or the onion gets it!" The best answer phone message I've heard...we did laugh. To misquote Les Dawson slightly..." we arrived at the right place, but not in the right order" Glad you had a good day... kirsty sighed a lot and gave me one if those looks. Regards iamlost 4 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted August 8, 2020 Author Posted August 8, 2020 Fantastic, the fun continues, one of the best parts of the day. Other photo's are really great to see, Lewis's Grandma go go too, love it. Was it Morcambe and Wise, all the right dance moves just in the wrong order? Not that I can remember because I am too young🤔 Quote
Chris Emm Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Thanks for a great day & a magnet. Think I have decided on new headlights..... (OwMuch!!! I'm from Yorkshire) Quote

Andy Westwood Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 Thanks for a great day. Great roads and great company. It's great to get back together and catch up with everyone. Julie Where's my ignition key? It's in the Porsche just pulling out😂 Perfect timing returning Andy. 4 Quote
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted August 9, 2020 Posted August 9, 2020 Another great run, thanks @Julie Hall - Peak District AO for finding great roads on a busy Saturday morning. Just think, they'd have been even better if we didn't have to wait for someone who couldn't find us 😉 Here's my pics: If you see @Trevturtle's eye's watering any time in the future, we'll know @Julie Hall - Peak District AO's found him and 'given him' his onion! 'Zee Germans' are following me: 4 3 Quote

Andy Westwood Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 Finally got round to washing the westy this afternoon after our great run out Saturday. I found that the N/S cycle loose. On investigation the support had cracked. Cousin call and support collected for welding. Quote
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted August 10, 2020 Posted August 10, 2020 @Andy Westwood some suggest to paint and then cover in heatshrink to protect from stones etc. Glad it didn't stop you getting home! 1 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted August 10, 2020 Author Posted August 10, 2020 Firstly I must say, what great photo's everyone added to this post, thank you xxx @Andy Westwood oh dear, we had that happen and Glen got it beefed up to prevent it happening again. It might be worth getting the other ones done too. Watch getting the metal too hot because it could distort the stay and then you might find the wing doesn't fit straight back on without bending it. Glen painted them in Hammerite but don't expect it to last long, our roads are good at shot blasting! 2 Quote

The Westfield parts team were great when mine failed, had a new one delivered in 2 days. I think we may have a new recipient of the "magnet of shame"...... 😂 3 Quote
