contacting Hi-Spec...

The saga continues….

 

I eventually got through to them on Friday morning.

They had no idea what my order status was but said it should have been shipped weeks ago and would look into it. Said they would call back in 10 mins.

5 hours later with no return call I phoned them…

Same person claimed that my order was in the final process of manufacture (funny that 🙄) almost ready and should be in the post that day (Friday) sent via next day delivery, backed up with an email confirmation. great!

– no email, nothing in the post Monday or Tuesday

 

So I Called again this morning (at least im getting though now )

Same person on the phone…oh yeah ill have to look into that, ill call you back in 10 mins…

Another 5 hours later with no return call I called back… same person, not a clue about my order, put on hold and guess what… they’re still being manufactured and should be in the post today/tomorrow and be with me by Friday.

 

Im not holding my breath that’s for sure.

 

It amazes me that a company can be this misleading to customers and be so unorganised with today’s technology.

 

Sorry if im ranting but I need to vent my frustration 😒

All sounds familiar.

 

If i were you I would be phoning every day until you had them in your hand.

Sounds just like my experience! I drove down there in person in the end as was living 30 mins away. Wouldn't use again for anything.

Looks like I was very lucky with my order fom HiSpec this winter, had ordered parts and within few days all had in home (Poland) . Before order few emails with explanation and technical details which parts I need (pistons etc for calipers) . Maybe that because it was small parts waiting on the shelf, no need for fabricating from zero.  

Later saw some negative opinions here on forum regarding order proces and some quality issues .

This the brake company? Presumably a bespoke setup, hence nt ordering from a distributor with stock?

 

I've worked in a small company (5 staff, I was the sole engineer) and I am aware it can be at times a bit frantic, and a times a mild amount of smoke and mirrors or white lies, but at the same time, we delivered a reliable service, held dates where it mattered, anything stock was with you next day, and were never more than about a week late on custom 4-6week lead fabrications and or machine builds.

 

MD (sales) was the worst candidate for not getting back or not being available, but between me, office manager, and the shopfloor staff we delivered what we promised.

I have had many dealings with Hi-Spec and can only say good things about them, Then I live only a few miles away and just pop in.

They had a guy on the parts order dept Rick from memory who moved on since then I don't think that anyone person is dealing with orders etc. it's pot luck !!!

I have to say that the kit is very good and a reasonable price shame that they are letting themselves down.

I agree that you should put a formal complaint to the MD and copy and paste all the other comments from the members in this thread, if that's not any infringement etc.

Nothing bespoke, Stub axles,  a common part which I ordered direct from their website.  No supplier stocked them so i went direct.(big mistake!)

 

Called again this morning and more  "it'll be ready today" B.S! 

Why lie????? Just tell me at the beginning that there is a 2 week back log etc and ill go away quite happy.

 

its taking all of my will power not to lose the rag on the phone

Are you waiting for one or just a pair? I have one sat around that (ironically) they sent in error, if that helps!

Thanks bud. I ordered pair but i really only need one, thing is i also ordered alu Hubs too. Its the stubs that are causing the hold up  (but who knows) 

 

They said "the would give my order priority"...the same order that just needed 2 split pin holes drilled 7 days ago... .

Keep bombarding them with enquiring update, I have found is the only way to make recalcitrant suppliers behave, they have to give in eventually just to shut you up☺️

I used to work for a company that had a shelving system(pre computers) that had different excuses and would just put enquiry up next shelf, if you didn't protest too much the enquiry was put to the bottom again, only way to get action was to make a nuisance of yourself, needless to say this company no longer exists
