But I might have to cancel - car is just not running right at all and no time left to try and see why. Plus the brakes are spongy - spent hours trying to get them sorted (even had calipers off to help raise the bleed nipple). But single handed means it’s a right sod. Really, totally and utterly fed up 😞

Andrew
Agree, .. you may as well fetch it along to the circuit Chris.. see if we can suss it out between us all? What's the running issue?
Kingster
It’s just running really rough. I noticed last week that it was popping and banging and missing when I tried to start it. It seems to go once past 2k ish but haven’t had a chance to warm it up properly yet. going to fill the Jerry cans now so will see if fresh fuel helps. I’ll be there tomorrow though - might as well

Kingster
Right. Bit of fresh fuel and it’s running a bit more like it used to. Brakes are a bit -errr pants. Guess I’ll just not have to brake then 🤣
TAFKARM
We (the royal we) can bleed them tomorrow Chris. I’ll think I’ve got a spare zetec coil pack I’ll chuck in the car now so at least we can rule that out.

Kingster
3 minutes ago, Andrew said: What work have you been doing to get crap brakes? complete rear end swap. No more wide SDV So it now has different uprights, driveshafts, brakes, hubs, handbrake cable, braided lines and arches. Oddly I used to have golf calipers (despite it being a Sierra SDV) and now it has Sierra calipers to suit the uprights I bought. Sierra calipers are a right gimp to bleed by yourself - and I failed miserably!

Andrew
I presume you've been concentrating on the rears, but could there be air in the fronts?

I did consider that and bled them a bit as well - but yes mostly the back. The fronts are also a pain - wilwoods with their utterly stupid ¼ inch bleed nipple! I don’t possess any imperial spanners either
