Rednop1 Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 What bonnet catches are people using with there carbon flared side panels if you leave the side panels full length Quote

Alan Cutler (Adge) - Dorset AO Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 4 minutes ago, CraigHew said: Just kept mine OEM..... That’s a neat way of doing it. May I ask if you cut away the original side panel around the locating block, or is the flared panel thin enough to sit over the top, and allow the bonnet to still sit down ok? Thanks Quote
CraigHew Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Hi Adge, No I left the original side panel as is until about 3 inches inside the flared arch where the cut line is. Bonnet latches fine after slotting the catch rivet holes (on the bonnet) a couple of mm to allow for 2mm movement 1 Quote
CraigHew Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I put rubber edging around the flare and exhaust hole: meant to also do that around catch holes but never got round to it. tbh the holes in the new panels are just big enough to allow the catch to function and no more.... 1 Quote
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 @6carjon had some nice work done on his by the factory in this area. Not sure if he's got any pics though? Quote
Jim RS Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 I used the Aerocatch shear and tension catch which holds in multi way conditions, it is expensive though but works well and satisfied the IVA assessment with ease. Quote

There are a few pictures on page 21 of my build... I can't remember where I bought them from but they are widely available, demon tweaks, Merlin, or direct https://www.aerocatch.com/ Quote
chriss1455 Posted February 4, 2020 Posted February 4, 2020 I just used some lockable bonnet fastner clips I cut the flared arches back by a couple of inches to make them work and use an r clip to keep it locked 1 Quote
Andy (Sycho) Posted February 8, 2020 Posted February 8, 2020 @Rednop1 I also used aero catches here’s a few pictures. Quote
