Yea, and sadly I don't have best part of £3k lying around for wheels & tyres, I know trye choice is "free" but bit pointless turning up without pukka rubber.

In fairness, if you are going to run slicks then you will also need a set of wets and a spare set of rims. Might not cost 3k but will cost.

Good point - mot requirement of reverse (gear and/or light) was discussed at length on another thread recently.

Would it cost much to add a reverse?

Don't need to add fancy reverse g-box I have seen people just using a starter motor on a gear on the prop/diff flange. I Am no BEC expert though

Yep, you are quite correct, so either I fit a reverse or go to modified

Unfortunately it is a live axle car and not quite as easy as an irs fixed diff where a starter motor could be used. I'm not sure if it would be possible to fit a starter motor to the diff casing and also as the diff/axle combo moves up and down, space may be limited. Maybe it has been done?
