Hi Folks bad news for me i'm afraid. I've woken this morning to very blury vision in my right eye, so i won't make the start line today.

It's unlikely I will make any of the trip but will get to hospital as early as poss next week and see what the consultant has to say.

I can't tell you how dissapointed I am, but my sight is too important to risk. I hope you have the most fantastic trip and will be reading your posts wishing I was with you.

Have fun and be safe.

Sorry to hear this news get well and if you can join us later then please do

but your health comes first , there’s always another holiday

Day 3 saw 260 miles today from Rawdon over to pontefract where we met Geoffrey and buttercup before being waved off by Robin and Marcus
Then heading down to Folkestone where we met Ali and Gail and Jude a mix of a few rain showers and sunshine, waiting on Dave to arrive
A bit of bad news that Martin can’t join us yet, get well soon
So today 2 became 5

Day 3 evening after some supper we nipped along to Dungeoness windy and misty and very atmospheric so did some black and white film photos of the old fishing boats and dozers on the shingle. Then it was time to fill up and head back for an early night as we get an early train in the morning.
AND tomorrow France and foreign climes beckon

354 miles done today. Most of it motorway but it was still enjoyable. Tonight we went to Dungeness and also past the live firing ranges. Dungeness is beautiful and desolate. Google Dungeness and read the Wikipedia page as it is so, so interesting. Expensive houses, houses built from railway carriages, nature, shipwrecks and nuclear power stations. Not forgetting the miniature railway. What's not to love.

Already on the Chunnel. Blue skies and bright sunshine. So easy to get through passport control and amazed how long the trains are to drive through.
