UPDATE Watergate Bay Newquay Cornwall hill climb

Hi all I've just found out that there is a hill climb next weekend at Watergate Bay on closed public roads apparently the first time in the UK  http://www.watergatebayhillclimb.co.uk

I'm driving down to Newquay on the 14th, to install my daughter in Falmouth Uni on the 15th, driving back on the 17th.

Wonder if I can persuade Mrs T that this would be a romantic way to pass the Sunday

Tell her your going to take her on a nice picnic over looking the coast at Newquay and act all surprised when the coast road is closed for a hill climb

So here's the plan for Sunday .. we'll meet at the Victoria Inn on the old A30 

Victoria Rd, Roche, Saint Austell PL26 8LQ

If we get there for 8 am we've got time for breakfast before heading on to Watergate bay for a 9.30 start

Aiming to come down, assuming you're happy for a Somerset car to join you?

What time are you aiming to finish breakfast, just so I know the time window to aim for, looks like it'll be nearly a two hour trip for me.

Plan would be to leave Victoria Inn at 9.00am – practice starts at 9.30 and it's about a 25 minute drive to the parking spot. Hope you can make it!
