Not sure what to do this weekend, a lot depends on the weather and wind strength. 1 Quote

I moved into the 2000's by finally getting a Go-Pro and here's my first in-car video taken at an autocross event. I'm two races into my season and so far I've chalked up two wins. Next week I go for number 3. The car is feeling great and balanced and all the winter work has paid off. dave https://youtu.be/r6tShuUtcAY I'd love to try that one day in my road going but track day prepped Westie, looks epic fun! My first RHD car btw , not only that , maaany new things and impressions. Shortly - seems veeeery promising regarding driving properties, very stable, controlalble, feels like "wider" esp on rear than mine Westfield Aerorace. Also impressions when revving to almost 13 k rpm ... ouch:) But, to be not so good - after 2nd session - lower balljoint somehow pop up from wishbone, wishbobe "touched" rim and act as turner. Swarfmungous! I do like the MNR though, nice cars. Quote

Currently waiting for my usual guy to get back to me with a plan to fix it... Hopefully fixed before Malvern, but I've already missed the best week of the year 😕 2 Quote

It is a lot of fun and it's also completely addictive. The cool thing is that it can be done in a reasonably small parking lot...the lot used in the video is only 450' x 250' (137 m x 76 m). The run in the video was just under 49 seconds and we got 8 runs in total for the day....only the best one counts for the final results. The top speed for my run was 99 kph (62 mph) so it's not very high speed but more than enough to get your full attention in a small space while constantly turning. If you ever get a chance I'd encourage you to give it a go! dave 1 Quote
Richard (OldStager) Posted May 13 Posted May 13 @Davemk1 I kept referring to Autotests before, it's not quite what you are doing, but here is what that discipline looks like here in the uk, I also mentioned I thought my car had been once a car for this, since I discovered the marks from "knob" thing ( I don't know its real name) on the steering wheel, my reverse lock out has been removed and the diff was welded, I now see why. Quite a few 7's in this . 2 Quote

That said I'm guessing the auto test is damn fun. dave 1 Quote
