b16gnr Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 hi, i have just purchase a pair of wind deflectors with the hinges, before i start drilling holes has anybody got any helpful tips on getting the hinges in the right place? regards Wayne Quote
CraigHew Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 pop the hinges on the winscreen pillar mounts, put some masking tape along the edge of the wind deflector, offer the deflector up to the car and when you're happy with the position, mark the holes on the masking tape. I used a bit of edge trim along the bottom edge just to stop any potential rubbing and marking. 1 Quote
Vogalogue Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 I have a set of these waiting to be fitted too.. Craig, are those the Ebay ones? I offered them up and the contours didn't seem quite right.. so I um, went to the pub instead. Quote
CraigHew Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Probably a good decision. No mine are from Westfield. Quote

CraigHew Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 @b16gnr the profile doesn't look too different. Why / where are they not a decent fit? Quote
b16gnr Posted September 8, 2017 Author Posted September 8, 2017 I have not tried to fit them yet Craig , I'll try tomorrow if the weather is good Quote
Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 I made these from 5mm thick acrylic sheet. The design came from the Blatchat forum years ago. Quote
b16gnr Posted September 19, 2017 Author Posted September 19, 2017 Wind deflectors now fitted, I used some 5mm tubing from B&Q which I split and fitted to protect the gel coat 2 Quote
