Stu Faulkner Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 For those of you that have not been before or for those who got so drunk they cannot remember we are located on plot 15. .SC17 Car Clubs v18 (1).pdf In simple terms drive in through the main gate and go over the bridge, this leads to a small island at which you turn left. Ahead you will see the Jaguar F type experience and you need to drive up the right side of this and onto the grass.(It says JLR radio control cars on the map above) At this point you will think you are going the wrong way but have faith. Follow the grass around the top of the Jags to the left and we are there, Do not attempt to drive to the left of the Jags and onto the track parade assembly as you will need a 4x4 to get up the bank that we are on top of. Don't forget that all cars will need to be infield and parked by 10:00 but you really need to aim at 9:00 as it gets stupid busy. I will be camping over the Thursday night and rolling in with a convoy of badly slept campers in Westfields nice and early on the Friday so I will see you all there. 3 Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Yep, planning on coming down Thursday afternoon too. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE HOW BUSY IT CAN GET ON FRIDAY MORNING QUEING AT THE MAIN GATE FOR THE INFIELD. It's not far from the camp site, but I bet it took us an hour last year to get to the main gate. (It took us less time to walk the same route later on in the weekend!) 1 Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Hopefully I'm coming down Thursday night after work, so might be late. Quote

Your progress will be great until you are about a mile away and you will come to a standstill. They were a bit lenient last year and let a few in after 10:00 but I wouldn't bet on it. Quote
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Ime coming down Friday evening, so will be taking the westy in Sat am along with anybody else (convoy) , @Stuart Faulkner - Shows & Events Coordinatorassume same timings aim for 9am? Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 I took mine in on Saturday last year at around 7 am, then got another hours sleep! But be careful trying to get back in. The jobsworth on the gate told me my hand stamp was OK, then when I went back in told me it was last nights and I would need a ticket, that was taken when I took the car in. Got in eventually. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Yeah, and don't do what I did, go in in the Westfield, expecting to drive back to the camp later, then, like most, decide to leave it and get the free bus in the next day. Only to realise come Saturday morning that my tickets were in the glovebox! 1 Quote
Andy_R Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Coming down to the camping site late on Thursday. Will be leaving around 18:30 but should get there in time for entry into the campsite assuming no problems with Roary. @Robin (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO ... do you want to meet up en-route if you leaving at the same time. I would say so. I'll do the same as last year and leave the car infield over night so I will be walking in on the Saturday. 1 Quote

Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 I have a spare vehicle infield pass for our club stand if anybody needs one they can have it, it does have a reg no. on it.. @Stuart Faulkner - Shows & Events Coordinator not sure how strict they are at the gates (quite relaxed last year) or if reg can be changed but shame to waste it if somebody can use it Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Not taking the car in @marcusb? Quote

Stu Faulkner Posted July 20, 2017 Author Posted July 20, 2017 As copied from the Silverstone web site. If you need to amend your vehicles infield pass, please go 'Ticket Collection' located in Car Park 50A where you will need to exchange the invalid car pass for a new one, if eligible to do so. What is 'elegible' is anyone's guess. Car park 50A is just outside the main gates. Quote
