Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 My Ranger came in at roughly £160 cheaper with A Plan this year than the previous year, for identical cover. They've switched me to a different actual insurer. I should add, I did ring round a couple of places last year at renewal time, and while A Plan weren't absolutely the cheapest, there was less than £20 in it, so I stayed with them. Quote

Car Insurance generally starts going up when you are in your late 70's so need to panic yet. My mums car insurance has rocketed to over £550 last renewal and she's 87, still driving confidently as well. Quote

Possibly a major proportion of The Cheese's premium increase is admin cost for a mid-year alteration and more valuable car. Also IPT (insurance premium tax which Chancellors seem addicted to increasing on a regular basis) went up from 10% to 12% on 01 June 2017. Re SootySport's observation about car insurance premium increases for septuagenarians should we then add a younger person as a named driver? Lol. Wouldn't encourage fraud. Quote
chriss1455 Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Came in 520 cheaper than my renewal (which went up by 370) Also cheapest insurance quote for my van as well which will be getting done tomorrow. Brilliant service and friendly staff Quote

Why on earth the £370 increase I was had lease cars before where the insurance was included as such it was a fresh when i bought last year. I was with admiral who put it up from 840 to 1210. Stupid thing is that i went on a conpatison site and admiral came out at 973. So called big insurance companies doing whatever they want Quote

GaryH Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Hi all I've got 2 westfields insured with a plan and my premiums seem much higher than any I've seen here. I'm paying £197 and £230 for fully comp, all year round. How does that compare to what you are getting covered? Gary Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Ignore the prices other people quote, insurance is such a variable thing they just don't compare well. I pay circa £190 for the S2000, but then it's stored on the drive and I have pretty much the largest milage you can select, before going on to a different type of policy. Quote

Gary total premium can vary a lot depending on mileage and also if you have breakdown cover that can add approx £40ish. Quote
