Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Can you resist? Just think of the sound of all those TVR's burbling around, their metallic sheen glistening in the sunshine, then picture them in front of Chatsworth House, I'm not even going to try to resist. So, if you want to join me, and Glen of course, come to The Wheatsheaf, Baslow, DE45 1SR at 10 am on Sunday 2nd October. I have a route planned that will take 1 hour and 15 minutes and is 35 miles long, it will finish at Chatsworth where we can have a nosy around the TVR's before going for some lunch. Anybody else giving in to the temptation? 1 Quote

Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 I know women are bad at navigating, but you can practically see chatsworth from the wheat sheaf! Very brave..... I expect you to be sconed to death or a similar punishment! 1 Quote
Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 We won't be able to make the Wheatsheaf as we will still in Whitby! However, we will be passing nearby later on our way home so we could meet you for an afternoon run, I'll lead Julie as I know how much you enjoy following caravans! 2 Quote
Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Can't make it Julie, not home until Monday. Quote
Andy_R Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Julie I'm new to the WSCC and in Wakefield so slightly out of your area but can I tag along this Sunday? Quote
Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Hi Andy, I'm sure Julie will be more than happy for you to join in on Sunday. You can get a very good breakfast at the Wheatsheaf if you need to! Quote
Andy_R Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Many thanks ... in that case I shall leave a bit earlier (sat nav reckons nearly an hour & half travel time if I bypass the motorways!) and grab some breakfast at the Wheatsheaf Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 Well observed Russ, Chatsworth House is indeed less than 3 miles away from the Wheatsheaf, but you have not factored in my little bit of paper with directions on in my back pocket that beats a Sat Nav any day. I call it a 'drive nav' Hi Andy and welcome to the club. We normally sit on the left just as you come through the door, we are the noisy lot that sit next to a big pile of warm clothes. It's a long journey for you so just let me know if you need fuel and I will factor it in. Now, Martyn, much as I would dearly love to admire your caravan and compare it with others that go by , I will be busy drooling over the TVR's 1 Quote
Andy_R Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Many thanks Julie and I'm looking forward to it. Are we meeting at 10:00 for breakfast or meeting at 10:00 to leave for the drive ... if it's the latter I'll get there early for something to eat? I'll pick up some fuel near Sheffield so should be fine (famous last words ). Quote
TAFKARM Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 I can't make it by the way, were engagement ring shopping. (She said yes) 4 Quote

Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted September 28, 2016 Author Posted September 28, 2016 Andy R - we have far too much to talk about to meet and leave, so it's in the pub for 10am where we have breakfast, coffee, and chats, aim to leave at 10.30 or when everyone is ready. No pressure and relax, we are here to enjoy. Big Andy, oooh, you bought a Westfield, good choice, look forward to meeting her. Not to worry Russ, chuck Beth in the Westfield and take her to Bakewell, there is a lovely jewelers there, nice men's watches too. Congratulations by the way. 1 Quote
Martyn Vann - Warwickshire AO Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Hope you all have a good time! And our congratulations to Russ and Beth too! 1 Quote
