Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 I counted 22 cars at one point! A fantastic turn out, brilliant weather yesterday and today, (didn't do Saturday, but I don't think that was bad either). Some incredible cars around, both on track and in the in-field. Huge thanks once again to everyone involved organizing and attending. 1 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 It was good to see that whoever chose the position of the WSCC pitch is fully aware of the needs of the aging population of some of the club members Thank you to John and Jeff for organising for WSCC to display at this fantastic event. I was glad to see that Nico's hazard warning lights work and that he has no bad earths on his car. Moving quickly on, ahem, I found some nice step ladders hiding at the back of the gazebo which meant I could get some pictures of all 22 Westfield's that attended today, with some help from the good husband and part-time ladder man. Lovely to see you all. Poseurs as well as car builders I couldn't quite get all 22 cars in so I went to the naughty corner and photographed these 2 lurking at the back I got some practice in with my camera, this track is a fair bit faster than Curborough was, I became an expert at photographing back wheels. Great day, put us down for the same next year. 3 Quote

John Dolan - Wirral & North Wales AO Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 The guy on the next stand to ours owns a Dellow. It's 50 years old, in original and unrestored condition, and he has owned it for 35 years. John Vickers walked up to him and offered him £50 for it. "That's £5 more than I paid for it" The Gold Cup is an exceptional event, the cars on the track and the cars on the club stands lay testament to our motorsport and motoring history, and to its future. Thank you all for your support, see you all next year. John. 2 Quote
