1959grantura
Hello, Looks like I might try and get to some events this year Just have some questions really for registering. Class wise I am not too sure here is a summary 2005 SEIW 1.8 with Turbo conversion , R888 tyres , Full Caged cage, out of date harness, Tom Franklins old car which did a sprint in 2013/2014 so it has all the ignition tow stickers etc . I am hoping standard road class so I don't need hans device ? Also drivers experience would I be a novice beans as its been a while? Many thanks Dave
Terry Everall
What size engine/make? Turbo zetec?
B.RAD
The rule for engine size with turbo is capacity times 1.4, so that would put you in the over 1800cc class. With road going tyres (which the r888 are) you can enter class B1 (novice) or B2 (expert) - best to email Nick Algar with your experience for him to decide if novice is appropriate. Great to have you with us
Pistol Pete
1.8 according to the post above, so if the turbo formula is still 1.4 that would give 2.52l so in an over 2l class. What this week's class for the tyres?
1959grantura
What size engine/make? Turbo zetec? It's a 1.8 zetec turbo Excellent be B.1 or B.2 then will drop Nick a line
Dommo
Class F because the Zetec was never originally turbocharged

Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
Class F because the Zetec was never originally turbocharged Interested to know which rule you think says this ? not the way I wrote / read them. Dommo
Interested to know which rule you think says this ? not the way I wrote / read them. I inferred it from this: Engines fitted with Turbochargers or Superchargers must use the unit supplied with the standard manufacturer’s engine That restriction isn't on class F onwards. Also the answer to one of the first questions in the regs thread. So if the Zetec didn't come with a turbo from the factory, it would not meet this rule? I will discuss with SSOT and confirm which class. Certainly the higher cc class.
Valentinik
I also asked a similar question shortly after the regs were released. I was told I would have to enter class F. My engine is a 2.0l Duratec with an Impreza turbo. So I would be interested in the answer also.
Terry Everall
Looks like class F to me
Valentinik
After reading the latest draft regs, has there been any confirmation on this issue? As the regs still state "turbo and super chargers must use the unit with the standard manufacturers engine" Meaning a duratec with a turbo would not be suitable for class B1 or B2 and as terry states would be class F Thanks
