TAFKARM
Does anyone actually enjoy listening to this idiot? He's so far past his prime its untrue. He's just not funny anymore. Repeating the same old "serious jocking" crap day after day. Tedium at its worst.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
It's something that's crept up on me this last year. I was sort of vaguely aware that it had got a bit stale, but still sort of enjoyed it. Then had a few months of not listening and when I came back to it, he was on this serious jocing routine, which seems to be creeping out from the Friday show, (which I'd started avoiding) to other days. The serious jocing stuff leaves me so cold, it sort of opened my eyes to how, well, poor, the show had got. And I've been a fan of his since he started at the Beeb. He seems almost to have got stuck, playing a cameo of himself.
Doug Dastardly
Is this going to be like a top gear thread where everyone either likes or loathes, and every other post suggests turning over? I think he's good now and always has been. Hate it when he's on holiday.
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman
Aye, perhaps. Trouble is, a it like TG, what to turn over too?
Captain Colonial
Let's just say I wish I got paid £190,000 pa to do that.

iain m
I listened to Radio 2 for decades, then gradually all the annoying gits we avoided on Radio 1 were all on Radio 2!! I saw a picture of Steve Wright a couple of years ago and believe me he is has ballooned to a size that he is difficult to recognise. John K
Not sure what might have changed (and no idea what Serious Jocking is) but I always enjoyed listening to him. And certainly prefer him to Chris Evans. Off on a total tangent, but I once rented Wrighty a car when I worked at Hertz
jeff oakley
For my money he is now well past it, but even worse is the stupid woman who is always banging on about some green rubbish or other. Why does he need three people to play a few tunes, it is a huge waste of money for little return.
dombanks
Couldn't agree more. Thought this for many years. I also think the same thing about chris Evan's show too. Been the same for too many years
TAFKARM
I reckon Evans will be off as soon as TG airs.
Tricky
We have the radio most days all day and I have to say although it's radio 2 I don't take much notice of the spoken word but still enjoy the music especially the oldies. It's a sign I'm getting older, I particularly enjoy Brian Matthews show early on a weekend and that's basically 60's. (just felt the need to tell you all, again it's an age thing). Mooch
Does anyone actually enjoy listening to this idiot? He's so far past his prime its untrue. He's just not funny anymore. Repeating the same old "serious jocking" crap day after day. Tedium at its worst. Fully agree. He's well past his prime. My DAB occasionally retunes itself and defaults to Absolute Radio. It did the other day and I wondered why the banality had stopped and the music had got so much better. He was good in his day, but he talks to me like I'm an idiot and I find myself shouting abuse back at him because I find him so hog-whimperingly tedious these days. CraigHew
I like listening to him, always have done. Although I only have the radio on once or twice a week through the day, It's the kind of thing I'd miss if it wasn't there...

I can't imagine not having him on somewhere though, been there all my adult radio listening life!
