jonjh1964
Today my new registration application was returned REJECTED. There were 2 issues, both perhaps things I could have worked out but don't think there were entirely obvious. 1. Certificate / Declaration of newness was not enclosed. 2. For Petrol Car tax class need CO2 emissions. So I called the DVLA vehicles team this morning and was fortunate to get through. A very helpful chap named Chris helped me understand the problems. The certificate / declaration of newness. I needed to complete form V267 to declare that the car is new. I'm sure I looked at this previously and thought that can't be required because I have provided copies of the invoices showing the kit purchase including the new chassis and chassis number, and new engine etc. It looks like this form is for importing a vehicle, as that is what is says in the 2nd section where provide your personal details. He said it was easy for me to download the form, and indeed it was. Tax class. Although it is a petrol car I should have put tax class PLG. I know that was the tax rate I selected, but I thought clearly it's a petrol car, that must be correct. Chris suggested I simply correct the original application form, and then post it back along with a note explaining what I have done. Because they have already looked at the application he said it would be processed within 10 days. So I hope everything is now in order. I took the forms back to the post office, with a new return envelope and paid up for the special delivery. Hopefully it will all be correct this time and the new registration is just a few days away. It was a couple of years ago now but once I'd IVA'd me full kit I contacted Mark Walker at Westfield and emailed him a copy of the IVA Certificate he emailed me a Westfield Certificate of Newness with the chassis and engine numbers etc - might be worth checking whether they still do this? Hemsley
Thanks for that tip Joe, I will call him on Tuesday. I was dithering over waiting to call him, or going with the advice from the Vehicles team... I just hope I was not too impatient! Like Geoffrey says, I'm itching to get out on the road, no patience left...

Hemsley
Itching to get out - oh yes, been out! My daughter and her friend were going out to the cricket club for a party tonight. I quickly made up a couple of temporary laminated number plates, stuck them on the car, and took them for a spin. A lovely evening and lucky to get out and back with only a few spots of drizzle. The forecast for the weekend is wet so I'm extra pleased to have been able to nip out tonight.

Hemsley
To my many friends on the WSCC forum, thanks for all your congratulations. Happy days, I'm still buzzing from the thrill of driving the David yesterday. My new V5C certificate arrived in the post this morning. For anyone who is interested, the turn-around time on my re-submitted application was 7 days. The DVLA Vehicles enquiry team were very helpful during the process, and believe me I called them frequently! I've spoken to A-Plan and my insurance details have been updated. That's another delightful surprise from this adventure, calling my Insurance company is a good experience as the A-Plan customer service team are consistently enthusiastic and helpful. I'll make a point of saying hi to them at Silverstone.
