Yep std engine - so 2 is defo the best bet - time to find one I guess.

I had a pal in much the same position as you, and he found good silvertops were getting a bit thin on the ground. (He did find one eventually) No harm in whipping the head off and seeing how many valves you need?

Yes, I know - there's a fellow WSCC member with one, awaiting info.

 

Pistons 2&3 have clear marks on them from contact - gave up looking too closely after that, but reckon there's at least 8 been hit.

Sorry to be right about it being interference :(  I'd rather trust Autodata than Google TBH.

 

There's always a risk of piston or big end damage with something like this as well. Not always instantly obvious either, but more often that not, after on of these, if only the head is repaired, other problems soon follow. Blacktop or Silvertop replacement as first option for ease and expense.
