Having the utility mark on everything from clothing to beds!

Mind you that was earlier than the sixties...

But roadsigns pre the Worboys report were 1960s

M6? What M6? I was driving when the new Preston bypass started to break up a few weeks after it opened! That eventually became the M6 didn't it Bernie? ???

Yep it did MOTCO, contrary to popular belief the first motorway opened in the North West and was not the M1.

Real wax candles on a real Christmas tree...that burned with real with fire!!! How mad was that!?

Indicators that flipped out the side of the door pillar.

The tangible fear of Suez.

The seemingly guaranteed snow every year for sledging and snowballs.

Knowing how to use a starting handle.

No salt on the roads.

No traffic jams. (But no M-ways either) You were sometimes the only driver on the A74 at Beattock or Shap. Not the places to break down in those days!

Keep your thumb tucked in when using a starting handle!

Plenty of traffic jams on the roads through Honiton in the school summer holiday weekends...

Remember us driving from Sheffield to Minehead in 1969 and going overnight to avoid the traffic.  Still took about 8 hours, though

Prior to the introduction of VAT in the 70's there was Purchase Tax.

Thankfully, cars in kit form were exempt and....................well you know the rest :d

Indeed! I was a student in the early sixties and couldn't afford the £650 or thereabouts for a Lotus Super Seven kit. :(

No smoking here as asthmatic.

MOTCO,

Agreed the full lotus kit was £970 when I priced one after I passed my driving test in 1968. £970 what can you buy for that now ?? I paid way more than that for my fuel injection.

How times have changed, pink specs off now Clegster.

There used to be a advert that said: "You can do it in an MG"

Well you can't - not with the hood up anyway!
