Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
I know you have all been waiting so here they are the FINAL 2015 regs, UPLOADED ON 5/3/2015 There has been a lot of consideration given to certain aspects of these and some quite difficult decisions made this year, with a lot of debate amongst the Speed Series Organising Team, SSOT to finalise these regs, hence the time it has taken to get them out. A couple of important point for you all. 1) During the year we intend to consult with Speed Series Drivers about their views on the cc splits we currently use and whether there is another system that could be used. This will only be open to registered Speed Series drivers and will be an open debate on how this aspect of the Speed Series goes forward. 2) The SSOT sets the rules for the Speed Series and consists of me (competition secretary / championship coordinator) and 6 drivers. At our last meeting we agreed that it would be a good idea if each year 2 of the 6 stood down allowing new blood to come onto the Team. David Hussey and Matt Hillam have both stood down for this year and this means that after the closing date of entries we will need 2 volunteers to join the Team. Anyone who is interested please contact me and I will let your know what it involves. Regs are currently away with the MSA for approval and your entry is based on that approval being given, should this not be the case then a full refund will be given. NOW APPROVED After reading the regs, you can enter on-line in the Store here http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/store/ WSCC 2015 VER 3 FINAL SPEED SERIES REGS.pdf

Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
Thank you for your thanks guys, there is a load of work in the background and it's nice to know it's appreciated. (I always knew it was ) One thing that I have had a PM about, so I might as well tell you all. A few years ago I persuaded Liverpool and LDMC to hold their June Aintree & 3 sisters events on the same weekend, so that it would make a more worthwhile journey for our competitors and other national championships to come up for the weekend. Apparently this was not liked by their own members and the events are on different weekends. It's a shame and I did suggest they may lose entries, but there you go. Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
See below the answers to some questions which have been raised about the regs : "Engines may not have their stroke altered from the manufacturer’s specification bymore than + or – 0.25mm in Classes A,B,C and D" Is this new or just something I haven't noticed in the past. - This is a New Rule for 2015. What does the annotation A/B on the programme refer to please? This denotes if the event is a National A or National B Who is the club MDA? Mini Drivers Association, who are new to us, but have run events at Blyton before. I guess we are a bit early for most of the organising club regs as I could not book the three I wanted last night? Yes, not everyone will have their regs out, keep checking the boardroom every few days to confirm when regs are available Rule 1.6 e Are you going to set target times for the new venues or should the rule refer to actual times achieved on the day? New venues will run to 1.6e and NO targets will be set for them. If during the year we learn that a venue has changed the course then it will be declared a New Venue and drivers advised. XTR2Turbo
Is it just me or is there a bit of contradiction here between g and f and h? f) A competitor must complete an official timed run to gain more than 75 Championship points. g) A starter shall be deemed to be a registered competitor who breaks the start-line timing beam following the start of Practice. The minimum points awards to a competitor who is deemed a starter is 75 points. h) At an event all official timed runs are to count, unless otherwise advised on the day by a member of the championship organising team. Practice run times will not be included. Where “run-offs” are incorporated within the event, these times will not be included within the championship. Hi David, Thanks for pointing that out, there is a little one between f) & g), I think we could take f) out. The idea is that if you get to an event you get 75 points just for get across the practice start line. An incentive that may be outdated. But does mean that at least you feel the effort to get there has some value Not sure what you mean with your point about h) please PM your explanation or phone me, think you have my number. Cheers Nick
XTR2Turbo
Nick I just wasn't too sure whether the 75 points were for turning up and attempting a practice or whether you needed to attempt an official timed run. I think the idea is good incase someone does have mechanical problems in practice. As a suggestion perhaps delete f and add to h something like (Practice runs will not be included.other than for the 75 point rule as above) Regards David
