John K Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Deffo... But I always end up blubbing at any Spitfire programs... I didn't just tell you that BTW Quote
peet Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Same as most of us - recorded so I can enjoy without the wife rolling eyes, yawning or generally calling me an anorak... Quote

jeff oakley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 I went to Duxford with the FIL and got talking to some of the guy's working there. A lot of the planes were owned by a very wealthy Swiss guy who employed several of them doing restorations. They loved what they did and worked to a standard not a price or a time limit. I was quite envious of their lives to be honest as what they do is special now and yet when these were being churned out it was a lot of women doing jobs previously only open to men. Easy to forget just how many brave young men died flying such a beautiful thing Quote
