In 1981  my photographic gear was a bit more rudimentary, so the results weren't as good as those you've seen so far, but we've all got to start somewhere.

Whos remembers when Siverstone had the Woodcote chicane?

Ta Bernie, I've got a few thousand more if you want to play with them :d

I was on top of the pit lane box's when this happened (1973) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R_XId0YabQ

I'd splashed out on pit lanes passes for myself and my cousin and it was just so incredible I'll never forget - getting so close to the cars just before they went out - I saw a piece of masking tape on Jackie Stewart's Tyrrell steering wheel reminding him of new brake pads - something I've copied ever since ! :)  And the I've got a photo somewhere of Francois Cevert having a pee against the pit wall just before getting in his car........ :d

But that crash by Jody Scheckter is as vivid today as it was 41 years ago.

Great stuff.......I don't know if I can find my F1 photo's (my cousin may have kept them) and I reckon I have a claim to fame at Brands Hatch that's best kept secret otherwise my then girlfriend (and future wife) would sue or have all my upgrades removed one by one   - but this was taken at about the same time  :d (just for you youngsters, it's an IBM Mainframe with all of 64k memory at Rolls Royce Aero Engines Leavesden - now more famous for Harry Potter).

(apologies for the hair, the stacked heels and hijacking this thread)i

No worries about the hijack, it's great to get feedback and comments, especially when little stories likes your come to light. :d

Continuing the peeing stories, I once had one in the paddock toilets at Silverstone with Niki Lauda (my all time hero) stood next to me doing the same.

I cant quite match Francois Cevert peeing, but here's Russell Brookes having a 'comfort' break before a stage on the RAC rally

Oh WOW thanks David, are they yours, were you there?

They are just a bit before I had the means to attend myself.

Denny Hulme, Chris Amon, Jochen Rindt, Graham Hill and Jack Brabham. :t-up:

Not forgetting Jackie Stewart in the matra.

There's just one guy on the first pic I cant put a name to his face, C'mon Bernie (pistonbroke) tell us who he is?

Flippin'eck it's Bruce McLaren.

Yes, Paul -- taken by me at Brands 1968 in the days when the F1 paddock was a little less formal than it is today ;)

Fantastic I'm so jealous, those were the days that got me interested in F1.

Good grief, that was the year I was born! Would love to have had a chance to spectate in that era though!
