I improved in time when my equipment got better.

That's what they all say

great stuff Paul , I was at that one too remember the fiasco at the start ............

British driver James Hunt was involved in a first corner crash that brought out the red flags. Hunt drove his damaged car back to the pits, but did not complete a full lap of the track to do so, instead driving through an access road on the Cooper Straight. The officials declared that, since he had not been on the circuit when the red flag was waved, Hunt would not be allowed to take part in the restart. This news led to much angry feeling amongst the British crowd, who chanted Hunt's name until the stewards, fearing crowd trouble, announced that Hunt would be allowed to take the restart. Hunt duly won the restarted race. Immediately after the race, the Ferrari, Tyrrell and Fittipaldi teams protested the inclusion of Hunt's car. In September, two months after the event, a decision was reached and Hunt was disqualified, giving Niki Lauda the race win.

In actual fact the patriotic british crowd caused a right rumpus , throwing beer cans on to the track threatening a riot , some say it was egged on by a certain McLaren team manager , in the end the police intervened on safety grounds and ordered the officials to re instate Hunt much to the annoyance of Lauda and Ferrari

The 7UP Jordan was one of my favourite cars of all times, along with the MTV Simtek of around the same era.

Great pictures big man :t-up:

There was a time at Silverstone when you could just walk down the runway while the planes and helicopters were taking off. :suspect:

They just parked em up in the middle.

Hey Paul ,

Lockdown has its good points ?

Missed this the first time around and you were asking who the chappy with Bruce & Denny was .

Innes Ireland    Alround F1 driver and Sportsman extrordinair , a real character .

I saw him at Mallory Park long after he retired , doing circuit tours for the rich & famous , he managed to roll the Mercedes Limo at the hairpin ,typical Innes :t-up:

His Autobio "All Arms& Elbows " was one of the first motor racing books I read . What a character he was .
