How wet did you get then? The rain was pretty heavy in Swindon during the morning.

At around 11am, the rain was, without exaggerating, biblical!  Absolute stair rods - hail, lightning, the lot!  The whole place turned into a lake in minutes and Paul's car was a swimming pool.  

 

It did dry out later, in fact it was quite pleasant, but many attendees decided to cut their losses and went home.  

 

I had a second track slot at 1245 and after lots of umming and erring decided I might as well go out, even if just for one lap.  Nice and gently up Avon Rise, really gently (at least I thought so) into quarry and before I knew it I was on the grass  .  Absolutely no grip at all!!  I carried on, but very gingerly as it was, quite frankly, treacherous out there!  Good experience, but give me a dry track every time.
