Cleggy the Spyder Man
Ok pretend you have that sort of money burning a hole in your pocket what toy would you buy Been looking at TVR T350's for some time as they tick most of the boxes although I am not in a situation to buy - a proper toy and a bit of an investment as long as things don't go horribly wrong with it What would you go for with your hypothetical lump of dosh ? AdamR
I keep looking at Exiges. I am half wondering if the illusion would be spoiled by driving one though, can't be as intense as a Westy! Dribble though... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4004-54-Lotus-Exige-Premium-Race-Turbo-Conversion-/221288987801?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item3385d9fc99
Speed Freak
I always wonder why the elises and exiges didn't go for higher power outputs. They look mean as hell, and In my opinion should have more power. With the majority seeming to have 150-200hp- I know theres a supercharged engine available, but think that only has 220? either way I don't know why there wasn't one with 300-400 hp to take on the big power cars- after all, youre not always at the lights wanting to do a 0-60 run ;-)
AdamR
Guess it goes again the Chapman ethos... and big power isn't everything
Doug Dastardly
A lightly damaged GT40 rep so I could rebuild it. I'm not sure if that would actually be in budget, might need to be burnt out A half built cobra rep. Or most likely for the money, a Stratos rep. For a chunk less money.....I have a hankering for a BMW HP2, with half the allocation of wheels you had suggested.
Onliest Smeg David
For me I would have 2 for the price of 1 !.... Ian's Megabusa (track n fine weather blats) & A seriously sorted and moded Mk 1 MX5 (Regular use and wet tracks) Combined running costs probably cheaper than one slightly more exotic car. Sparkymart
The Toyota GT86 look. Like a lot of fun per pound.. Yes yes. I know it's a Toyota lol
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
It's a shame you can't make it £ 40K, then it would be a Ferrari F355 or and Audi A8, the first if you want to make sure you don;t suffer much from depreciation, the 2nd shouldn't cost much to run and is awsome :D
Speed Freak
or an Audi A8,
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
Got an A8 already, cracking car. But meant R8
Cleggy the Spyder Man
the difficulty is finding a car desirable/exclusive enough but at the same time, one where yoofs wont feel it is their god given right/duty to gob on you - they both fail that test IMO (probably more so the fezza) and they are both out the price range
M444TTB
Hmmmm assuming it had to be a toy and I'd still have the Westfield then it would be a Porsche 911 (996) Turbo.
SootySport
Might squeeze a Lotus Cortina mk1 for that money, destined to go up in value--------------forever.
Wile E. Coyote
I'd like to tick off these at some point: Cerbera MGB GT - "slightly" warmed Morris Minor - ditto Jag XJS Jag XKR Defender Early Landrover (S1 or S2 rag top) Mini - bike engined Some could be done for less than £20k... and you've not stipulated that you need to see the cash back from any post-purchase modifications. Of course, you could always browse http://www.mod-sales.com/direct/vehicles/,37,/Armoured_Vehicles.htm and decide that one of those makes sense. Exige is a great choice for this price bracket. I almost bought one but instead bought the VX220 turbo at a circa £10k saving. Still wish had got the Exige...
