Norman Verona Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Stephen, they're round and green. A bit sour. I've no idea other than that. Mike, I may just get one of those to lob apples at Stephen. That'll be fun James I've been thinking what I could use. The only object I can think of is to get a barrel with a lid and jack it up with a prop on the lid to a beam. Big tray to catch the juice. Only problem will be the juice will run over the greasy jack. Back to the drawing board. So, looks like a few thousand jars of puree. Quote
User0083 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Chuck em' over then! We'll make something with them or freeze them puréed! We still have a few kg's of rhubarb in the freezer. Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Ah, Rhubarb, I love Rhubarb and gooseberries. Both difficult to get here. Probably get them in Rennes market but not the supermarket. Quote
tolf Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Norm Why cant you make a cider press? Cant be that difficult, you could even power it, and crush the apples by attaching a drivebelt to your caterham Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 What and damage my other three fingers! Quote
User0083 Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 Email Top Gear and get them to design a V8 cider press!!! You could do it like wine... Stick them in a barrel and stomp on them! Quote
minesapint Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 So why don't you get the farmer to come round with his press, ferment the apple juice into cider, keep half for consumption, distill the remaining half, and use half of this to make Calvados, distill the remaining quarter again and make into very high alcohol content liquor and run the Caterham on it. Then with all the booze you've made, invite the whole of the WSCC over to France for a barbeque and the p*** u* of the century. Cheers! Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 17, 2013 Author Posted August 17, 2013 Minesapint, your a bit behind the times. I've already invited the members. Quote
