Phil363
I think it's Keeble that's near Cirencester.

Marto303
Bedford Autodrome today, probably the wettest car track day I've done so far. Apart from the weather to contend with, Palmers strict noise policy has been the biggest bug bear of the day. I struggled to meet the 101db static test to get on track, but after some silencer mods and crossed fingers I managed to get down to 97db, just had to drive all day with no socks That I thought was that, so got in some early laps in the pouring rain, had a slightly embarrassing spin in front of the pits but to be fair there was so much standing water it was only a matter of time As the morning progressed conditions improved for a while but then another down started just as we stopped for lunch. The afternoon started as the morning finished, wet, but gradually cleared and the track began to dry for the first time. Thats when my problems with their 87.5 db drive by began. Just as soon as it was possible to push the revs a bit higher out comes the Black Flag, so I get a warning for being 0.1 db under the limit and politely asked to slow things down a bit. A few laps and the same thing again, just as I'm starting to really enjoy myself, so back in again and this time although still under the 87.5 limit I'm told that's my last warning, next time I'm off home, although still under the limit. Feeling a little disheartened and with the rain starting again I decided to call it day. I've still had a great day and learnt a lot about the limits of my driving ability in the wet, just feel the day was a tad spoilt by what seams to be an increasingly strict control of noise at Bedford, after all I didn't break their limit once
jacko9370
That doesn't sound good, not sure how loud mine is and am there soon
Marto303
Best get it checked before you go. On my second attempt to meet the 101db static I managed 101.9 db and they still wouldn't accept that. If you can't make that 101 your not getting on track, period. It would seem that you need to be significantly below the 101db static limit to avoid the 87.5db drive-by limit
SteveH
Driveby is always tricky but for sure Bedford is as strict as it gets on noise monitoring at the moment. It's an interesting venue but more for road-cars and first-timers in my view, it doesn't compare to some of the real race circuits that we get to play on. matt nossiter
Driveby is always tricky but for sure Bedford is as strict as it gets on noise monitoring at the moment. It is tight at Bedford and I've always just sneaked under the static but never had a issue with drive by. It's an interesting venue but more for road-cars and first-timers in my view, it doesn't compare to some of the real race circuits that we get to play on. I've always quite enjoyed Bedford, think its got a nice mix of corners and its a nice long lap as well, it does lack any undulation and will never be an Oulton or Cadwell but I still think its got a lot to offer, it does help that its my closest track though! Terzo204
I think it's Keeble that's near Cirencester. That's got to be Kemble. Unless you mean Keevil? I'm booked to go to Pembrey on the 21st of this month and i'm going to book to Keevil on the 12th of next month.
Bubba
Was thinking of Bedford for one of my first track days. Would a standard 2.0 Zetec new build that's just passed the IVA qualify under noise rules?
Dommo
A few of us are doing Hullavington on the 27th September

Would a standard 2.0 Zetec new build that's just passed the IVA qualify under noise rules? Been there a few times with a mate who had a 2.0 Zetec with a Techcraft silencer ( not sure how big ) and he always easily passed static but had problems getting close with drive by, but all it took was for him to swivel the outlet on his exhaust so it faced the ground, but , there's so many variables ( exhaust packing condition and type, type of air filter, how its driven etc ) that you really won't know unless you go there yourself.
