MIKEASHTON
After the trackday at Cadwell today (13th Sept), a competetor, who shall remain nameless, but is known to all, to down shift very early and rev the living bejeasus out of his 16v VX. (but in his defense, it has got a rev limiter) I suggest that we give each of his pistons and rods a name each, and take a sweep stake on which one comes to visit the soonest. I suggest names for pistons as, 1 - Maryloo 2 - Jannet 3 - Louise 4 - Samantha Rods, 1 - Kate 2 - Jilly 3 - Bernie 4 - Phillis Any takers . . . . . . Kev Bamber
Mike, are these named after the "Beverly Hillbillies" we saw that night in the pub in Seamer, Scarborough?
Terry Everall
As the accused person I can say, in my defence, that if you dont rev em they dont go fast enough! That , Mike , is what your right foot is for with an occasinonal light touch of the middle pedal just to avoid the scenery. Anyway I have an SBD sticker, tee shirt and inlet manifold and their 1600cc vauxhall car revs its goolies off so why shouldn't I try to do the same? The engine in my car is there to be used and abused so that it puts a smile on my face and at Cadwell left everyone behind me ( covered in blue smoke from my exhaust! So long as it survives for 3 sisters I will have a good reason for a winter rebuild. Thanks to TVR club invite to a great day even though we p******** most of them off by passing them incessantly. One TVR owner asked me to take him round on last session and was seriously impressed ..... I think he wants one!NOW! Terry (Keep it revving!! damianc
Thanks to TVR club invite to a great day even though we p******** most of them off by passing them incessantly. Nice follow up to Topcliffe last weekend then, where a few of us spent the day running rings round them. They'll get the message yet (as will those red italian jobbies )
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
Mind they were getting cross towards the end, the Yellow Cerbra blocked me from getting passed infront of the crowd, and moved over once we were out of view. I think it was because I had passed him there once before in the day. Nick
damianc
Oooh you've needled them. Let's see if we get invited back...
MIKEASHTON
The car in front is an EVERALL
I.S.M
I ve been loosly following the progress or demise of the Everall engine this season, and it has to be said that its holding together well all things considered, however it isnt the quickest way round cadwell is it Terry? like it isnt the quickest way around Curborough etc......! If you want my advice take it easier and it ll go faster! you never know you may even beat me Dad some day.

Terry Everall
Jamie (you smooth driving lightweight young wipper snapper) in the few times I have managed to compete you may have noticed that I am getting faster ( and older) and one day.......!!!When I have a car as light as your dads, with ally hubs,4 pot calipers, Leda shockers etc etc etc I probably, maybe , could, should ,without fail get close. BUT to beat him??? We'll see - meanwhile its great fun trying See ya at 3 sisters PS -- I have a spare engine in the garage! Terry
MIKEASHTON
Does the spare cringe when ever you open the garage door too ?
Steve Robinson
ignore 'em terry and keep on revving it and one day you may reach the stars - but I think one of your pistons will probably beat you to it... see you three sisters for your last chance. surely every super duper 16v, big cammed, throttle bodied, sbd tuned vx should beat a poor ol' pinto ? Paul@Plays-Kool
Back to the topic, my money's on Bernie, it's usually 3 or 4 that escapes! Maybe this engine could be donated to the Smallridge brothers for further destruction testing... or maybe not Scared passenger
Terry Everall
I thought you were all me mates!! Still you have to take the p.... out of someone I suppose specially when the car trying to stay in front is an unmodified vauxhall without big cams, no vernier pulleys, no magic box of programmable ecu, and I only have a standard type 9 gearbox. I seem to remember that "old smokey" was pretty quick at Mallory and Elvington where an 8valver struggled for speed!!! But maybe you guys are worried ---- If I put up a smoke screen at 3 sisters you might all need radar to see the track! Jamie , I think your dad is finding it hard to take the increasing pressure and is quitting the class next year to try an easier route to the ss championship ?? Smokin!!!!!!!
