  1. After very very much deliberation I've decided to put my beloved Westy up for sale. She's just not getting as much use as I'd first planned and think it's about time someone else can have the grin factor. The car is an 18 plate with 2700 miles. It was built with road in mind, but has got the usual upgrades that would suit track days (1 track day completed in it so far, featured in the club magazine). It has important things for the taller driver like 5cm taller Sport Turbo Windscreen and ST Side screens, but would suit average height folks as well 😀 It has had a couple of cms added to the upper steering column by John Danby racing to bring the wheel closer when the seats are all the way back, as well as a quick release steering boss. Lastly it has JK seats, giving loads of extra cockpit room. The build is fully documented on a web blog, with loads more photos and documentation available. Located in Chelmsford, Essex. Spec White ZK Bodywork with Green race stripes 2.0 Ford Zetec with Omex Throttle Bodies, Omex ECU and Raceline sump 5 speed gearbox Upgraded Wide Track Front Suspension Upgraded 4 pot Brake kit (Westfield black calipers) Limited Slip Differential Upgraded Protech Adjustable Shocks Carbon Fibre Front Wings Team dynamics Pro Race 1.2 black 7 x 15 wheels Sport Turbo Windscreen and side screens (5cm taller) as well as additional Wind Deflectors Extended Upper Steering Column Detachable Steering Wheel MSA Half cage roll bar JK custom Seats Sabelt 4 point harnesses Heater SoftBitsforSevens custom made rear Boot cover SoftBitsforSevens custom made passenger Tonneu Cover Westfield Black Half Hood Coolex upgraded alloy radiator Black carpets Immobiliser and wheel locks 12v power socket Fire extinguisher Oil pressure gauge Oil catch can Chassis treated with Dynatrol anti rust Professional Corner weight set up by MK sportscars in Braintree Bad bits The screen has a stone chip and a small crack and may need replacing before MOT time. (£300 from Westfield) Offers considered. I also have 13" wheel set, and some other spares.
  2. 2009 SEiW 2.0 Zetec Westfield Slightly embarrassingly my first post on the forum is to look to sell my car but I have found this a great resource and thanks to everyone for putting so much useful information on here. Anyway, after careful consideration I have decided to put my Westfield up for sale as I am just not using it as much as I hoped. I bought the car towards the end of summer last year and have greatly enjoyed it the times I have used it but I hope someone else can give it more use. Specification is as follows. 2.0 Zetec (silvertop painted black) running on Jenvey throttle bodies and Omex 500 ECU- recent dyno at 167 BHP Fully independent rear suspension with LSD back axle Front aluminium uprights and hubs Westfield four pot aluminium front calipers OZ racing wheels (inc spare) RAC roll bar heater Cobra sports seats with Willians 4 point harness Full weather gear Bought from the original builder and showing circa 4,500 miles since built. Most parts first purchased in circa 1998 and finished in 2009 and as evidenced by the mileage limited use since. In great overall condition though with usual marks and stone chips from use and very slight deeper 'scrape' to nearside rear wing caused by an item in the previous owners garage catching the car as he was parking it. Only used in dry or near dry conditions by myself and by the overall condition of the chassis and suspension the same was the case for the previous owner. On collecting the car I decided to get it checked over and a new cambelt fitted so it was fully serviced by Powercrazy MotorSport, Cullompton in November 2019 at which time it spent some time on the rolling road to get it fully tuned and it was shown as showing a pretty respectable (I think) 167 BHP. 12 months MOT as of 29th May 2020 only advisories being tyre wear on outer edges, so could would benefit from some suspension setup tweaks. I spent some time looking for the 'right car' and this one ticked all the relevant boxes and I will be sad to see it go. Located near Chudleigh, Devon in light of the forthcoming need for tyres and to hopefully stimulate interest price reduced from £10,000 ONO to £9,250 ONO. Car is on Ebay at more so please refer to the forum if getting in touch. Message me or call 0797 1627436 (you may have to leave a message as signal isn't great where I live) if you are interested and would like further details. Thanks Alister
  3. I built this car myself 10 years ago from a single donor Mk1 Mazda MX5 1800 cc. Since then it has been garaged indoors, SORN for the winters, never raced or tracked. Since building the car has covered approximately 10 000km, (speed reads in mph, odometer in km) the original odometer reading is 120 000 km (approx 75000 miles) The engine is running on it's original ECU and as such is very reliable (has never failed to start first time). In very good overall condition. Usual receipts to prove original build. I am an engineer by original trade and would like to think I made a good safe job of the build. Wet weather hood available, can throw in with the sale if price reasonable. various spares and bits I will pass on with the car if wanted. 12 months MOT next due 30/04/2020. The MX7 decals on the sides can be peeled off if preferred. Viewing welcomed, Preston Lancashire area. Please contact on 07871 050070 Selling to make way for the camper van project (a little sad I know) but it has to go owing to space needed. 'The small print' - There is a small fracture in the offside cycle wing and there are some surface cracks in the gel coat of the nose cone (which can be seen if you know to look) where a bird struck the indicator pod. Tyres are all legal, but getting low (priced to allow the next owner to get their choice of tyres). , Yellow, 1 owner, £5,900 ono.
