I have been asked to post details of my route on the first day.

This will be my route.

I will be at the Mcdonald's in Darlington at around 9.30am. I will stop here for breakfast and fuel.

I will be at Kielder Castle cafe at around 1.00pm. There is a petrol garage not far from here.

Kielder Forest Park, Hexham NE48 1ER

Then its a steady drive up to Glencoe.

I normally get to Glencoe at teatime where I just unpack my things and then go straight out for a mooch down Glen Etive.

Thats Brilliant.

If we meet at Darlington then we will go through Northumberland and some great scenery on the way to Kielder.

Happy to meet anywhere though.

I will start to put up a few routes.

As always they are not "set in stone and suggestions are always welcome.

This will be our route from Skye up to Durness.

This will be the route on the first full day.

I have never been to the area on the left before so it will be a good explore.

BOB.

If you wanted to travel in Gary's car down Glen Etive and Lorna jumped in with me, then we could all get down to the loch at the bottom of Glen Etive.

I only suggest you getting in with Gary as his car is bigger.

When head to Skye, we will go from Glencoe and head towards the ferry at Glenelg.

The ferry crossing will be £15.00 each car.

http://skyeferry.co.uk

There is all the north of the island around the Quiraing and Staffin and of course the Fairy Glen and fairy pools.

Does anyone fancy have a go at axe throwing.

What about if someone who has not been to Skye, just takes the lead and we go where we go.

Looks like axe throwing it is.

I dont fancy been stood agains the board with @ziplob throwing the axes at me though.

Here is a route for our day in Durness.

We can call innate the Crask Inn and it is Britains most isolated pub.

If the weather is nice we can always have a walk to Sandwood bay beach.

Its just over an hours walk to and from the beach but its worth it.

I usually leave Durness around 7.30am and get back to my hotel around 11.00pm and even though it is a remote area there is so much to see.

More than happy to just spend the day around Durness and potter about.

Loch Eriboll is beautiful and I can drive round there at 10mph all day long.

@Garyt @Ali Jones I believe there is a day when we are not all together.

What date are you staying at Avimore as on that date I am going to go and venture into the hidden valley.

These are the "3 sisters" and a couple of years ago, I went to find the hidden valley.

Unfortunately I climbed right up this gorge for a few hours.

It wasn't until I got to the top that I realised I had gone up the wrong gorge. This is the correct one in the picture below.

Fingers crossed I get it right this time.

Here is a bit on the hidden valley.
