Likewise, I'm just well prepared :d I'm working on the assumption that since i entered on the day the regs were released that i've got a space

If i haven't got in, then i'll have a cheep hotel to come and watch you as a spectator

FYI - Quote from the Bristol Motor Club website today re the Castle Combe event (in the interest of keeping all parties on the same page);

'The entry list is now closed. There has been an unprecedented demand for places, and the event is more than 50% over- subscribed. The Entry List is being finalised and will be issued with Final Instructions on or about Friday 15th March.

If you are not competing, please consider helping us to run the event by volunteering to marshal.
At the moment we don't have enough marshals to allow the event to run.'

Thanks for the heads up.... if i'm not on the list i will marshall as ive booked a massively expensive suite in the travelodge on the M4.

I'll still be there too if I don't get an entry. My suite is non refundable, besides which I need to visit Merlin to sort some parts for the single seater project :d

It's great to see the popularity of the event, whist last year several other venues cancelled due to falling numbers.

50% oversubscribed! - I blinkin' hope they work on 1st come 1st served! The randomness of this is a bit of a shocker. I can't "reach" most of the events due to distance. Fingers crossed! :-)

very few Westfield's there last year... so much so I didn't even bother to go up and watch... is bad I know.

A repeat this year would see me not entering again as it's my local this would be a real shame.

I take it you emailed to find the 50% figure :( always has been over subscribed but 50% is ridiculous. was opened up to more clubs last year hence the problem, seems to be the same this year then.

hmm...

Don't be too hard on the club. They have been in discussions with me about this and will use a fair system to allocate places.

The history is that this was a new event for them in 2007 and has been a great success. Far more than expected, hence the problem. It would be nice if every event was so good it is this popular.

I will be talking to the club during the year and expect to be able to sort out things for 2014 as initial discussions suggest some good solutions.

There'll be one extra place as I withdrew a couple of weeks ago when it looked like I might not have a license, a week later the MSA decided I could have my licence. :bangshead:

The reason this event is over subscribed is that it's a such a great circuit. :)

Yay!

"Having completed our selecting meeting last night (13th March) I am pleased to confirm your entry has been accepted.  I hope to issue FI’s and entry list with numbers in the next few days; they will also appear on the BMC web site.  The event this year has been very popular with entries being well over subscribed!
Best Regards
 Alan Want Entry Secretary"
