So Steve they know whats wrong with you. Do not take the p*** .

As I told you last Sunday I had a heart attack last year only a minor one HA HA.

They kept me in hospital under observation for over 3 weeks several test s etc. etc.

I felt fine and complained wanting to go home, no chance. I didn't understand cause I felt great.

One morning Surgeon came in said very sorry but we are going to operate Triple bypass and a new valve.

I did exactly what they told me after the op. Now After 8 months I am getting back to normal.

Life has fired a waning shot over your bows mate so take notice take the advice of all the people on here,

Sermon over get well soon

Marty

Joking apart Marty is correct, its a warning shot and to be well taken notice of. The eyes will sort themselves out I'm sure, mine weren't as long stuck as yours just a day or so. You may find some other things which are affected which you would never have dreamt about. My peripheral vision was shot for a while but thats returned ok, I still can't stand sudden loud noises ( screaming kids etc) but that might be older age and my apologies for this one a common issue is the gag reflex mine is a bit screwed up and thats after 10 years. I have chilled down a lot since then and certainly don't allow stress to rule me, try not to get frustrated which is bl**** hard but it has to be done. Good eh but we get by just make sure you do.

Did you get the bottled grapes I sent to the hospital  :p

Nice one Steve, the medication will start working pretty quick. Depends on what they start you off on as well, Statins kick in very quickly and get Cholesterol down within days but it's whats stuck in the pipes that counts. Aspirin is or should be your friend. I guess you owe the Irish nurse one. They do know what they are talking about. No rush but don't be too restrained, as if. I don't recall being told to lay off the beer, must have missed that one. It will all work out fine, you know what you need to do.

My last recollection from my internment -- I ended up having a guy who had had a liver transplant standing guard outside my curtained bed when the Neuro surgeon eventually turned up 3 days late a week into my stay, just in case I kicked off. The Neurosurgeons opening words being,  " I haven't got time to discuss this, I'm very busy "---- I very calmly (for me) said I have waited almost a week for someone to tell me what the damage is to my brain, you are that man and you will tell me what has been going on. He got the message, showed me the scans (interesting) and told me what had gone on and what needed to be done, then I went home. Two demicks take on the world, result , the ward sister called him a kn*b as well as she had dealings with him before. He was ok in the end and I often have a little chuckle about it. I do have one more story but that can wait.

Get well soon, give my best to Bev, she may recall our conversation at the Christmas meal.

You should be reprieved soon, if not there will be a good reason.

tbh im really quite worriedthat my sight may never return properly to the way it was ,if it does not get any better im screwed tbh as i cant drive or work as i am seriously im f*****  ,that is quite a sobering thought ,so i have to do my best

my mother was 70 on monday she went away sunday dinner until mid day today to the cotswolds with my sister (pre booked) i made her go as she does not have hollidays and she wanted to stay at home and visit me  ,the last time she had a break was a few years ago with us for a weekend after my father died ,to see her crying and worrying about me is not nice to see and upsets me ,so i have no choice but to fight this

anyway my challenge now is to sneak out to the pub (for a orange juice) without bev knowing

this could prove my hardest challenge to date          let the challenge begin

I've already sent this txt to Steve and I dont want to go through it again.

This morning I took a call to say a friend had died, someone I take exercise with everyday at work, walked with him and another friend over the last 8 or so years probably around or in excess of 1000 miles in total. We walk and discuss, express opinions, argue and debate; all the time getting a good bit of exercise from a fast 40 minute walk.

He was the fittest of the 3 and a long distance runner. Determined and honourable but also ignored some warning about his health. Last night at 6:30 he had a heart attack and later died in hospital. 45 years old, 2 kids and a wife.Just starting to plan for a retirement in 10 or so years.

I'm p******** with him for not taking it seriously I dont know what the doc had said but we had discussed some issues he had with blood pressure.

We dont get many warnings but when we do they have to be taken seriously.

Very sorry to hear your news Ash.

How many times do we hear of (apparently) fit and healthy people passing away suddenly for no immediately obvious reason.

As has been said - and at the risk of boring the pants off the big fella - take all the advice, pills, tests and care they have to offer you big lad - they do know what they are doing.........

Love to Bev and Willem (and the handsome dog!)
