My feeling is that road-going narrow body cars look better with swept wings, much more stylish and classic, whereas wide body probably look better with cycle wings. But each to their own, pros and cons each way. Yep - you're never going to answer the subjective looks argument but at least this way the op is armed with as many of the facts as possible. The points above about weather / stone protection are valid but I can't say that I've noticed a big problem since swapping. Let's face it, most people don't choose to drive them in the rain anyway. My old arch protectors show that plenty of stones still make it past the swept wings but they do block the 'direct hit' from the front wheels so you just get the ricochets from the rear arches.
