GreigM Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Yep, I wonder if it will stand, he definitely overtook under yellows. I thought exactly the same thing about the radio. Quote
kevip6 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 What a fantastic final race for the season though. Shame about Hamilton though, would have been good for him to go out with a well deserved win. Quote
Doug Dastardly Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 No mention of it on bbc highlights at all Found this on sky, they start talking about it half way through. Does not seem very clear or conclusive at all. http://www1.skysports.com/formula-1/news/12475/8282398/Race-stewards-insist-that-Sebastian-Vettel-overtake-was-made-under-yellow-red-flags Couldn't help but notice that sky's Jake is a bit tasty Quote
thos Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 It was red and yellow flag, which is different to yellow flag, so no infraction. Quote
SteveD Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 It was red and yellow flag, which is different to yellow flag, so no infraction. they looked pretty yellow to me Quote
Rory's Dad Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Sky F1 went through it - oil flag plus waved yellow plus yellow panel, yellow panel, yellow panel, green panel, yellow panel then overtake IIRC. I'm so glad Fingerman's radio wasn't working. I've never had much time for Alonso but I think he's driven better than Fingerman with an inferior car. I'd question Fingerman's overtake on the 4th corner he just seemed to assume the apex was clear for him without looking. Crackers that early in the race but how lucky that he escaped any without any serious damage. Exciting telly but would have preferred Alonso as F! Champion and I think that's down to Fingerman's finger etc. Rory's Dad 1 Quote

davidgh Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Sebastien Vettel, the youngest driver ever to have the fastest car in F1 for four consecutive seasons Share your initials with a certain Ferrari driver, eh? Both drivers who have previously succeeded in winning three on the trot went on to win the next year Quote
Kevin Jones Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Sebastien Vettel, the youngest driver ever to have the fastest car in F1 for four consecutive seasons "They [Red Bull] are Vettel fans. He drives the Red Bull concept - he turns in on the brakes, which gives understeer, then when he gets the brakes off, the front grips, the car rotates around the nose and he nails the throttle because he's got confidence that the rear aerodynamics will make the back grip. Alonso could drive like this, too. But the Ferrari doesn't have the rear downforce to allow it." Garry Anderson on BBC website Quote
allegory Posted November 28, 2012 Posted November 28, 2012 Radio 5 live reporting now that Ferrari are considering whether there is sufficient evidence to launch an appeal based on Vettel's possible illegal overtake Quote
