FILFAN Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 after my last track day which i managed to spin again i need to get my head around controling the spin and having more fun spin at 8.10 when i spun it here i was doing a little trail braking to encourage the back to step out a bit but got more than i bargined for was i just too slow catching it? from what i can remember i shut off the gas too so this would have took more weight of the back end so would i have been best off keeping some power on to try and power out. am doing the barkston heath day with cleggy and a few others next month so will have something to practice Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Haven't we seen that before. Rings a bell. Quote

Norman Verona Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I wasn't complaining, I was asking a question. Quote
FILFAN Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 I wasn't complaining, I was asking a question. think i have the vid on 3 topics now so you got any tips apart from slow down Quote
stephenh Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Personally, I think you just went into the corner a bit too hot. I've only driven Blyton once, or rather, three days running, when we went to a trackday, and then the WSCC sprint earlier this summer. I found the corner where you spun to be lacking in grip relative to other parts of the track. I've an idea that it might be the camber of the road on that bend. I don't think I'd want to try learning trail braking technique on that corner. Quote
stephenh Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Or was this a windup, just to increase the number of posts? :d Quote
Norman Verona Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Just not good enough. It should be on at least 6 threads to be of any use. Quote
FILFAN Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 Or was this a windup, just to increase the number of posts? no but it will keep norm happy Quote
FILFAN Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 I don't think I'd want to try learning trail braking technique on that corner. had some instruction earlier in the day and it was his idea. atleast there isnt anything to hit there i suppose Quote
Cleggy the Spyder Man Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I would say umm yer you was going too fast sounds/looks like you backed off the throttle which pushed the back end out - when you are as committed as that maybe a very light throttle application may have steadied the car - as they say "keep your foot in" (with all the usual disclaimers) Quote
FILFAN Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 Did you really want advice? If you have some please. I may not like it but am still learning. Plus I can always ignore it if I don't like it Quote
