OK, another Westy booked :t-up:

I'll be in the black one with some engine poking out the top of the bonnet, and a black helmet - come say hi.

My first track day in this car, so I hope it goes alright. I know I'm going to have some cornering issues - the tyres are apparently the originals which would make them 14 yrs old! It's very tail happy, so it's not going to be fast but it'll be lots of fun :d

Steve

Good man - come park next to us if we are already there

we tend to go to the far end of the paddock (turn right))

that's a shame Phil

well I fitted the new wheels/tyres (nankang cheapie rubbish) and went out for a ride

I now have a rather lively rear end :-/ this could be fun between us :-0

I'll look out for you cleggy and try and get a 'pit garage' next door :)

This evening I was trying to sort my tracking, which I managed to totally mess up when I fitted a new steering rack gaiter the day before. It's now driving straight, but 'dialled in' it is not. Lol

Looking forward to it! :)

Great day was good to meet a few new people, thanks for the passenger rides enjoyed the sprint track the most,Track was good but didn't do my old neck any good getting chucked through that chicane flat out by Kev :suspect:

Cant wait to get mine out at Barkston hope the sprint track is a similar setup

Hey guys, so I managed to drive the car home. :t-up:

The AA guy didn't turn up until 6:45 (with a look of uncertainty on his face "Oh, so this is a Westfield is it?") - didn't sort the issue until nearly 8 pm, so I didn't arrive home til 10.

Engine wasn't starting at all after I parked up in the front car park on the base. The AA guy identified that the fuel injectors were not firing. We spent ages trying to remove, clean, test and re-fit the crank position sensor which is in an awkward position because the turbo charger prevents access. This made no difference though. Eventually identified that the ECU loom where it attaches to the ECU was at fault. The loom plug is actually screwed into the ECU, but one of the connections must have corroded or something, as once this was unplugged, cleaned and re-fitted it fired up fine.

Anyway, great day out and really good to meet the Cambridge/Peterborough chaps - a very friendly bunch. Big thanks for the tow off the base - where's the pics? lol

Thanks to Cleggy and Kev for some VERY quick passenger rides. Scary stuff through the mini-chicane on that back straight! :o

See you at the next one! ;)
