Man On The Clapham Omnibus Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I bought the seats from Subsy and they are great as far as lateral location is concerned and not uncomfortable either. There is a problem that Subsy cannot have foreseen, however, down to my need to regularly adjust the seat position between where my 6' son has it, and a slightly farther forward location for me. I fitted one to the driver's side (after gluing some rubber edge strip over the cut edges where the original owner of Subsy's Westfield had trimmed them to fit in the cockpit - see Subsy's original advert) and they fitted quite well. I found, however, that adjusting them fore and aft on the runners (taken from my original Westfield seat) is difficult. My runners aren't the most free running due to age, but even with new runners I fear that adjusting would be a challenge. Shoving the seat back is easy, but moving it forward again is impossible, I find, because there's no friction between my and the seat! The only way is to unbolt the seat and move the runners off the car. So, if anyone wants a pair of fibreglass 'racing seats' at probably a fraction of the new cost (they are a third party make so I don't know the original cost) and has no need to keep moving them fore and aft, here they are. If anyone is interested PM me. I am just off the M40 at J2. No complaint argument with Subsy, they are exactly as described and a good price, but they don't suit me sadly. EDIT: Did a trackday at Abingdon on Friday last (14 September 2012) and still had the driver's side fibreglass seat in situ. Having made an effort to free up the sliders I thought I'd give them a try. Well the upshot is that I shall keep them at least until I sell the car. If any subsequent owner want the original seats in then they will go back, but for trackdays - my main use of the car - they are so supportive compared with the standard seats that it would be daft to swap back.
