Norman Verona Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Silver VW Beetle sorry Porsche Carrera 4 convertible: Barry (Herbie) Ashcroft Got a phone call a few years ago and the voice said: I'm in Le Havre and supposed to be on a weeks cooking course, but it's cancelled, can I spend a week with you?" I said it would be OK and gave him directions to the roundabout at Pouance and asked him what car to look out for when I met him. " a modified VW" So I go to meet him and he's in a Porsche GT3 RS Quote

frag68 Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Unfortunately work commitments dictate that its a no show for me this year. I have tried to post a link to Pistonheads - Le Mans forums which shows my Westie in action leaving the traps(I mean onto the peage) at Boulogne, but the link doesnt work for some reason. There is a chap who sits at the peage at Boulogne on the Thursday taking pictures of the Brits and their cars heading to Le Mans and posts them on a website. He has literally hundreds of pictures from the past few years. Worth a look at the site just to see some of the expensive machinery taking the trip. Anyway hope everyone who is going this year enjoys it and all being well I will be making the trip from Glasgow to La Sarthe in the Westie next year. Quote

CL290005 Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Heading down on Thursday (euro tunnel crossing) hope to be at circuit by about 10pm beer in hand! Norm's BBQ sounds interesting, had thought about a detour and using the Gites for extended holiday may be next year. Traveling in A3, you can get more goodies in the boot! Quote
