North Weald Activity Day - Essex Airfield - 11Th May

Hi All,

I'm looking to book onto a Carlimits North Weald Activity Day

So I can get a bit more used to my cars handling near the limit before getting on a few track days this year.

They have spaces for 11th May but I just called them about booking requirements and costs for a Westfield club day. I have to email them for a price which depends on what our requirements are for setups and instructors etc...

Soooooo, is there any interest in an event like this? I would guess the cost to be in the £800-£1000 region for the day and so obviously depending on numbers it could work out quite reasonably priced per person.

I don't know if any of the more experienced Sprinters/trackday drivers would be interested in instructing to keep the cost down?

Anyway, I'd be looking for a date in May ideally so let me know if you're interested and we can go from there.

There were a few peole in the southern kit car club that were looking at doing this, if you want i'll post a link on there to get a few more numbers. Although some of them (including me) will be on the skcc road trip that week.

If we book it as a Westfield day then we can pick a date to suit us. Doesn't need to be an already scheduled day.

We can keep the numbers lower as well to Give more driving time each

Road trip is the week before ending on the Sunday, @ £39 this does look a bit of a bargin

11th May would be good for me. Our baby is due at the end of May so anything later than this would be difficult for me

Anyone that's interested also let me know if you're happy just to join the others for the 11th May @ £39 which will be a total of 24 cars attending

Or... If you'd be interested in a bespoke Westfield / Kit Car day which can be around the same time but would allow us to run less cars for more drive time but would increase the cost slightly.

I'm happy with either but the only feedback I've had on the event is that there is a lot of waiting around if the event is full up. I'll speak with them in the meanwhile regarding costs for a bespoke day.

Looks like an interesting day with a good mix of cars, and only 10mins up the road for a change! I may well just book the 11th. It seems cheap, is there a catch?

No I don't think there's a catch. Only a fair few cars to queue for runs.

If people are happy with doing the 11th then I'm happy to do the same.

Was only thinking of making the most of a day off work and getting more time in car.

I'm sure some people that have attended one of these will post there comments on here.

We may struggle to get enough members for our own day so probably easier to go with the 11th.

No issue with a bit of waiting around personally - you should try sprinting.

must admit not quite sure what to expect for 39 quid but hey ho it is only just over an hour away for me and will be a cheap day out and chance to meet some more westy-ites before I go away on me hols

I think I will trailer the car down there - might look a bit over serious but at least I can wear out some old rubber boots I have kicking around
