Steve Abbott Posted June 26, 2002 Posted June 26, 2002 Ah Bryan , in that case I don't think young Scott had anything to do with the said waitress , I say this because I left the bar in the early hours and Scott was chatting up some one else at the bar , further more "who ever" did "what ever" was no gentleman ,as the said waitress seemed to be under the impression that she would be seeing him the next day ???but he had already left and she was most upset and came to us to ask for any information as to where "he" came from , but we could not help her , and she left in tears , a sad tale if ever thre was one. furtive Posted June 26, 2002 Posted June 26, 2002 I couldn't hear the bottle bank or the crows - they were both being drowned out by snoring from the next tent. The razor-blade matts in the showers were a killer though Quote
Bryan C Posted June 26, 2002 Posted June 26, 2002 Steve I think you have just confirmed that we should not go back to the Bar next year. Perhaps we can find another place where we can eat and drink quietly without having a paternity writ placed on the table along with the menu. I think I'll have a more restfull night at Houx in the circuit next year ! ( Bottle banks / cockerals / noisy Westfields / screams from the cold showers / and drunken revellers, snoring etc. ect. ....) Regards Quote
furtive Posted June 26, 2002 Posted June 26, 2002 I think you are kidding yourself. Replace cockerils with fireworks, and you will have Houx. Quote
Steve Abbott Posted June 26, 2002 Posted June 26, 2002 Overall I enjoyed much of this years adventure , I'll be there next year ,although the base camp might not be in the same place , this being my 5th trip I think it's a shame we were taken advantage of at the meal loyalty counts for nothing . Thinking about it I think the lead footed red Westie driver and the "cad" with the waitress maybe one of the same person, a "member" of team Westfield. Maybe they should look a a code of conduct for next year Quote
Nick M Posted June 26, 2002 Author Posted June 26, 2002 You think they'll be any TW people there next year ?! Quote
Roadkill Posted June 27, 2002 Posted June 27, 2002 A slightly different perspective... This year was the 4th time i've been to Le Mans. The previous 3 years I was camped near the essex folks, but this year I was with the folks from TW. Bryan knows who I am, as I was sat opposite him at this years meal. I read this bbs for a bit of a laugh (especially the long running kylie thread) though I don't actually own a westfield (never have done), and i'm not a member of either WSCC or TW. Anyway, on to my rant... Re the "hooligans". Yes, the red car may have been a bit on the noisy side going up & down the road, but was it any worse than the blokes with the especially annoying CD of engine noises being played VERY LOUD ? or Brian's snoring the year before ? (sorry brian ). The previous years when camped near the road, there were essex folks doing exactly the same. Personally I found the constant gunfire & cockrels far more annoying, and the old bentley or whatever it was that seemed to take the slowest route possible back to its tent. Re the waitress. I couldn't help but notice a sizable portion of the younger essex contingent taking quite an interest in the waitress as well. I suspect that in the absence of the TW chappie that gave her one, she may very well have ended up with one of the others. I know (and so does Brian I suspect) that given half a chance i'd have been there myself Could this be a case of sour grapes perhaps ? Something to do with the fact that despite being considerably outgunned by by WSCC members, it was still the TW lads that scored Re TW. It would appear that the chap that started this thread is determined to find something bad to say about them. I really can't see the problem. The people that went on the trip appeared to enjoy it, and probably wouldn't have gone were it not for the fact that everything had been organised for them in advance. From where I was, all I saw was 3 more westfield owners getting to enjoy their cars, and the superb atmosphere of Le Mans Re the meal. Have to agree, the price went up, the quality went down I suspect theyre in for a bit of a shock financially if the venue gets changed next year so, rant over, can't you folks all get along... flame away ! Lee Quote
Steve Abbott Posted June 28, 2002 Posted June 28, 2002 I don't think anyone has any real bad feeling towards TW , it's just that there's no Cateram owners to have a dig at on this forum or is there ? As for the waitress well I suppose if I wasn't a very Happly married man I would have to confess I wouldn't mind haveing a go , but only with the best intentions . You didn't see her the next day Quote
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted June 28, 2002 Posted June 28, 2002 Anyone got any photos of said waitress? Just curious you see Quote
Bryan C Posted June 28, 2002 Posted June 28, 2002 Mr Roadkill has got me fair and square - yes I was caught snoring loudly last year but this year I was as quiet as a butterfly !. It was the others....honest guvnor. IMHO no flaming is necessary as I am already looking forward to Le Mans next year - same place, same people, same crazy stunts and same hangovers, but probably not the same restaurant. Scott told me the the boss-lady spent the rest of the night counting a huge wad of notes which would choke a donkey or would even pay-off a small country's balance of payments. Some rip-off. Anyhow, a bit of baiting the usual characters (and new boys with TW) is part of the weekend, especially if you only see them once a year and is only meant to be taken in fun. Tongue firmly in cheek and definately too tired after the race for the extra-curricula antics with said waitress. Regards Bryan Quote
Steve Abbott Posted June 29, 2002 Posted June 29, 2002 I believe a photo was taken (not by me) , she's bending over , I'm not sure the person that took it , still has it, or what condition it's in , still I should'nt think anyone would be interested Quote
