Nick M Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 OK, I've tried this the last couple of years but with limited success, due in no small part to the crap weather we had last year. But, I'm going to have another crack at it. Mad Friday is, as those who've been before will testify, probably the most entertaining day of the whole weekend (unless it's p******** down with rain...). The prime spot for automotive activities is down by Indianapolis and Arnage corners, where people are routinely stopped and made to perform standing starts for the crowds. All very silly, but good sport all the same. It's also a good opportunity to go "toy spotting" and to kick some tyres with the owners of other cars, even c******m owners..... So, if anyone else is interested in meeting up, there's likely to be a crowd of us from the Essex area pitching up at Indianapolis / Arnage on Friday afternoon at about 2.00pm. It would be nice to see a few other Westies down there too. I know there are lots of Westies that go down to Le Mans but they seem to end up scattered all over the show - you see them either in car parks or tootling around the countryside on their own. Keep your eyes open for a navy blue car (no screen, carbon silencer), an orange Megablade, an Orange twin bike engined loony machine and a dark green wide track car. There may well be a couple of others in tow too. Be nice to see a few of you down there. Quote
Blatman Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 You *know* I'll be there................ Do you know who I'm going with this year? Quote
Blatman Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 Just though I'd mention it before someone else does..... Should be a laugh though................. Quote
Nick M Posted May 16, 2002 Author Posted May 16, 2002 Might make a few of them think twice about Westfields.... Quote
Nick M Posted May 16, 2002 Author Posted May 16, 2002 Hmmm, good point... Ah well, their loss... Quote
paul warren Posted May 16, 2002 Posted May 16, 2002 Just joined today, saw your note, hopefully see you on the corner! Been to Le Mans since '88 and would be nice to meet other Westy owners rather than the dreaded C word! Looking forward to it already - let's hope for some good weather this year! Cheers Bunny Warren Quote
Nick M Posted May 16, 2002 Author Posted May 16, 2002 Paul, what sort of car have you got, e.g. colour, standard or wide body, any other distinguishing features ? Just so I can keep my peepers open for it. Quote

Glad you got the fuel guage sorted - doesn't surprise me that the looms have changed slightly over the years to be honest. Quote

Steve Abbott Posted May 17, 2002 Posted May 17, 2002 Nick , I agree , Friday is one of the high spots ( not counting last year ) but i have to confess to being forced to spin my wheels , once , or was it twice , several people were filming all the "high jinks" , I would love to see that all again I will be landing at St Malo on the Friday at 8am so I should be there hope it's sunny Quote
