A Good Driving Shoe For The Large Footed?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm a size 12 and have a very limited range of footwear that allow my feet to press just one pedal at a time (heel and toe isn't a technique it's an accident for me!)

My current shoes have had it so I'm looking for something specifically for driving the Westfield but that I can also wear out and about without looking like I'm a racing driver going shopping.

Any suggestions? I've found Puma seem to do some narrower trainers but I'm not in the slightest worried about the brand, just the fit

I am a size 12 also. I bought some OMP boots from Demon thieves.

Very soft and not good for walking too far but great for driving.

Thanks for the reply, I was after a shoe/trainer rather than a boot if possible though?

something from Donkervoort maybe? pricey, but nice! http://www.donkervoo...nkervoort-shoes

Unfortunately looks like they stop at a 46. 12 is a 47.

I'm interested in seeing what others are using also.

This seems to be the problem, lots of the shoes I've been looking at stop at 46

Looking to see if Puma speedcat or driftcat shoes come in that size as they look quite compact on the width

I'm a size 11 and have a pair of Skechers (shoes, not trainers) that don't have a prominent seam round them that work very well. They have also worn well and are very comfortable with an elasticated velcro strap that makes them easy to put on/take off. However, they are over two years old and it doesn't look like they are in the current product line. These are similar (you may have to look around for your size).

I have some grey Nike Capri trainers, they are slim and ideal for driving from Sports direct. Oh! just looked and they only go up to 11, I guess you'll have to trry many shops to find the right size.

Have a look at Piloti, they offer a good range of driving shoes and boots in sizes upto 13 that wouldn't look out of place to be worn down the pub on a friday night.

I personally wear the Oakley race low, which also appears to be available in a 12 :t-up:

Another vote for Piloti and Hamilton Classics used to offer WSCC members a discount, not sure if this is still on offer ??? used to be ;)

I've got puma speedcats and find them comfy. But they are very small...I'm a 11 or 12 (depending on make and style) but had to get them in13 or 48.5 to fit.

It's not easy to find them in that size, I got them mail order from schuh who were very good about replacing the size 12's

I havent checked for sizes, but why dont you try Colin McRae website.

I know they are running off the stock of his clothing etc.

There may be a bargain to be got there.
