That will give me a couple of months to get the gearbox sorted, the old cylinder head rebuilt and fitted, and a new exhaust made up, as well as the time to save for these essential repairs.

I have no preference, but once the repairs are done, want the car set up properly for the summer. Hoping for around 180 bhp once finished.

I shall come along to the R-R and may even have a power run done. Does anybody have a list of the confirmed dates we set?

Kev

Kev - wee dov has still to put pen to paper (he's old school  ) but as soon as I see the list, I'll suggest dates for the dyno day.

Right folks, how about the weekend of 2nd/3rd June for the Dyno day?

The current draft Scottish group calendar dates (thanks Rab) look like this:

15th APRIL: Sma' Glen (meet at Harvester Inn, Dunfermline @ 10am)

6th MAY: Dunoon (meet at Harthill Services @ 9am, then onto Lomond Shores)

20th MAY: Fala Dam (meet at Lizzie Bryce R/about @ 10am)

(2 or 3 JUNE: Dyno day?)

22-24th JUNE: Applecross!! (meet at Kilmahog @ 9.30am, then Green Welly)

12th AUGUST: Jim Clark Room inc BBQ at Neville's of Borders Se7ens (Ashkirk) (meet at Myreton Motor Museum @ 10.30am)

8-9th SEPTEMBER: Boness Hillclimb (details tbc)

Knockhill Hot Hatch - TBC

This looks reasonable from a 'fitting in' point of view on the calendar and gives people; a) time to ensure their cars are on the road and settled down; b)an opportunity for a per-Applecross fettle (for those who are going obviously).

The only other date early on in the year may be in late April. I'm happy to go with the majority.

If you are ok with the proposed weekend, any preference for Sat or Sun?

Thoughts?

Unfortunately I can't make that weekend, but don't re-arrange on my behalf as between work and reliability of the car I'm always a bit unreliable anyway........have a good day, take pics/video!

I'm good for either of those days :t-up:

Dont sell the boat !!!... boaters live longer and have better sex lifes.. (so I am told)... so if you can find the old guy thats having it away with my mrs.. let me know...

Failing that.. stick it on my Website / Forum for sale.. http://excoboard.com/26215

The boat didnt get used last year and I need to put a towbar onto my van, which means when I go to my holiday home, I need to take the van rather than the Westy. I could put a bar onto the car, but I ruined the back end of my Saab with it going in and out the sea and not going to do it to the new car.

So regardless of the myths of the boaters it is going in the next couple of months. I still have a wee blow up boat which will allow me to potter about in the sea so technically still a boater, so maybe not all is lost :)

Ok for both dates and would prefer a Saturday - but not a problem if people choose a Sunday !

Okay, without stepping on Matt's toes, we need to firm this up if it's going to go ahead at all guys. I believe that there now may be only 4 confirmed as definites, which I think we'd all agree, is far too little to run an RR day. It also wouldn't bode well for future attempts to organise a day at SiTech if we turned up with such a low number this time around.

So, the ball is in our court ..
