SootySport Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 Simple, Go to O2 sort tickets, straight down A21 to Brands. Quote
kevip6 Posted April 9, 2012 Posted April 9, 2012 If only it were that simple. I can only get the tickets a few hours before the gig. The only option would be to go the opposite way and go to Brands for the morning and head up the A2 afterwards to the O2. The problem is that seen as I have to meet the brother/sister in laws there we may as well meet up for lunch and I drop them there. I'll work out all thd logistics nearer the time but I would have taken the Westfield along and that's not likely now so I think it's going to be too much messing about to be worthwhile. Quote
Pistol Pete Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 Presume most people are heading down the A12 for this, anybody fancy a Colchester and Chelmsford meeting point? Everybody ok with parking on the South Bank? - don't think it will be too busy for Club Motorsport, usual charge is £5. Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Pete, I'll check it out tomorrow as I'm at Brands for the Trucks but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the westfield onto the south bank, it was a somewhat tortuous potholed route the last time I was round there That said, the long range weather forecast is such that I may end up taking the Golf so then it wont be an issue. Pistol Pete Posted April 21, 2012 Author Posted April 21, 2012 Enjoy the trucks, went last year and they are quite a sight. Quote

Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Pete, I'll check it out tomorrow as I'm at Brands for the Trucks but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the westfield onto the south bank, it was a somewhat tortuous potholed route the last time I was round there That said, the long range weather forecast is such that I may end up taking the Golf so then it wont be an issue. As promised I did a quick recky on Sunday and for those thinking of taking their westfields the route round to south bank looks ok. MSV appear to have been busy tarmacing, so all good there, just watch your ground clearance when crossing the bridges over the GP circuit as the transition on the ramps looks a bit marginal.ATM the weather still isn't looking to bright, so I'm making the decision to tin-top it there myself. I've got a lot of jobs to do to the Westfield before Stoneleigh and not many free hours so that way I can use Saturday to bond on my new cycle wings and glass them in place, then I can leave them to cure on Sunday while I'm at Brands Quote
Fat Thor Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 Not sure wether I can get to this, weather looks pants and the Mrs is taking the tin top elsewhere. Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Humm, looks like the forecast is still pretty crap for the weekend what's your thoughts for this Pete/Kevin? are you still thinking of going? or shall we bail (no pun intended) and reschedule for the Snetterton round on October 7th? Quote
Pistol Pete Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 I have my boys so will a) be going in the tin top and b) going whatever the weather. I think Kevin is out as he's picking up tickets at the O2. The weather does look a bit naff, I just hope it cheers up for next week. Quote

Ok, we'll I hope to still be there then unless it turns even more moist than at present, my Dad was also originally planning to come along too. Wrap up warm, it was pretty darn cold last weekend. I think Kevin is out as he's picking up tickets at the O2. Oops it's getting late, I meant Matt Quote
kevip6 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Yes I'm out unfortunately. I thought I had convinced the wife and in laws to come and watch a bit before we have to head off the O2 but at £13 a ticket and a good chance of getting wet they decided against it Shame as I would love to go and I've not been before. I'll def keep 7th October free if people are up for it. Quote
Matt F Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I'll still be going but in the tin top as dont want to chance the weather, I should be able to get us into the pit garage in the morning while my workmates brother is racing if anyone wants to. Do those still going want to meet up at Brook Street or there? Quote
Mark (smokey mow) Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 Sorry chaps but I'm going to have to bow out I've just got back in from the garage working on the car and I'm very rapidly running out of hours to try and get it ready in time for Stoneleigh since it's not looking like being great weather on Sunday I'm going to use the day instead to hopefully finish the car so i won't have to work the week evenings Have fun and keep dry Quote
